You guys should be happy paying 100 an hour. My sister has to pay $175 or 150 an hour. If my sister will let me, ill post some her ink done by a good artist located in Melbourne FL.

seems so petty. If you can do the work, and since your out on your own so much who gives a rip. everybody (as in customers) want to have their say and run their mouth but if you cut your delivery prices for them they'd probably "overlook" the tatted up driver lol

A good friend I met while I worked at Walmart has a lot of tatoos. Many of them are gang related from when he was a younger. He spent 10 years in prison for robbing one of the truckstops in Vado, NM but turned his life around when he realized his daughter would spend the rest of her life only seeing him on visiting days. He works with at risk kids to try to keep them out of trouble as well as some orphanages in Juarez He kept all his tatoos as a reminder of the life he left behind. He quit Walmart to become a full time minister with Victory Outreach, he felt it was his true calling.

I have worked for 5 or 6 different companies in my nearly 17 years of driving, and I have about 15 tattoos on my upper and lower arms and legs. No company has ever given a rats ### about my appearance!

Injun,
Companies should take people as they are and let them cover up their art work. I know this first hand as a certain member of my family has had to go through this.

I can think of one that would probably have a problem with them. They have a strict dress code, uniforms, length of hair and no facial hair other than a neatly trimmed mustache. They don't seem to have any problems finding drivers. Some companies are more concerned about their image than others. From what I have seen, most don't care as long as the driver has a CDL. I have never cared about uniforms, but if I were to want to work for that carrier, I would need to comply or find another company.
We should all be concerned about our appearance. So many seem to fit the stereotype of drivers. It might surprise some of you, but at one time some drivers wore shirts and ties. That would be difficult to imagine today. And at the time we didn't have air conditioning in our trucks.Kittyfoot and The Challenger Thank this. -
My trainer was a button up shirt and pants guy (no jeans). I'd have to have that stuff tailored (no off the rack stuff will fit me and let me do my job without tearing).

Some do and some don't My company will not hire you, or they will eventually fire you if your tattoo is visible. They also don't permit wild hair, unnatural color hair, any facial hair beyond a very tame mustache. They also aren't very interested in prospective employee's opinion of these policies as they have more applicants than openings. For some reason 75% of applicants not in compliance with the company policies proceed to explain to the company why those policies aren't necessary. I wonder how many of them are surprised not to get hired?

Hmmmm, wonder what the reaction would be if you had to be tattooed as a job requirement? You know, company logo, your employee number.... like that.
Had a bud years ago that had Trucking Scenes and truck makes tatted all over. Got me to design the one on his back; Freightshaker towing a trailer through a mountain pass. His wife did the actual tat and did a helluva job onit. The Challenger Thanks this.
