I don't care about a paper trail. And the ATM's are by the jukebox usually so she would have to leave the stage, and we don't want that.

Yes for the most part that is true, but here is where it goes into a grey area, If said Debit card has a visa or mastercard logo, there is a limit to what you will be charged (just like a credit card <all cards very the amount even credit cards and yes some have it to where you don't get charged>) but there is also a time limit that most use, so simple word to the wise and I've said it time and time agen READ THE FINE PRINT
and as for the debit cards being pushed by the bank's it's just easier/faster to process the debit card than it is a paper check and cheaper

Walmart ATM? Why not just by something you need at Walmart and get cash back?

I use my debit card every day for fuel and all other purchases. I don't worry any more with my debit card than I do with a credit card. The card member name, whether master card or visa, are still liable for charges on the card from theft, just as if it were a credit card. At least this is what my bank told me.

Yes, you are covered. But because it is linked to your checking account, your account can be drained before you realize it. That just leads to embarassing situations like checks bouncing.

Every now and then I change my account and my cards, just in case someone out there has my info he gained from a database he hacked into or stole. Sometimes I'll even change banks. To me, given the prevalence of database thievery today, an account that is more than about two years old is "too old" and needs to be put down.

For some added security. On the back of your ATM/debit card, credit cards. Instead of signing your name, write "See ID" in permanent marker.

stop at supermarkets, walmarts, or drug stores. Buy a pack of gum, and then get upto $100back when using the debit function.

I do this all the time, it keeps the wife from killing me...
