I rented it with my credit card and put the 3 nights motel on my card also. I'll just get the reciepts signed off in safety then hand them in with my trip envelope to get re-imbursed. The company knows it's cheaper to do it this way then to have a driver holed up in a motel for a week. Plus the fact I was only 9 hours from the house made it a little easier.

Thanks, except that when I picked up my truck yesterday afternoon and hooked to my trailer, my A/C wasn't working. I went in to the service desk and told them it was working fine when I brought the truck in last week and now it isn't. They told me they couldn't look at it until the next day. At this point all I wanted to do was head north. I called into our shop and told them what the deal was and they said to bring it back to Pittston and they will fix it. Needless to say it was a hot mother yesterday until it got dark. When I stopped at 1am this morning at least I was able to sleep with the APU runnig.

I stopped at a truck stop at Mandan ND, mm 147 and fueled up. It's a small independent that has a huge parking lot and very clean showers. In Montana I fueld up in Missoula exit 96, Muralts. There's one on the north side and one on the south side. The one on the south side has free wifi. Then you can fuel at the Petro just west of Spokane, then top off in North Bend. Hope this helps.

I'm geeting ready to leave Greencastle Pa. I'll drop this trailer thats 8 days late then head to the yard to get my A/C fixed. Louie's on Vacation this week so Jason is wearing both hats. He told me I'm going to the west coast tomorrow. I asked him yesterday if I could go west. I told him I need to earn my keep, I have been home 15 out of the last 25 days and haven't made much scratch. I told him it's time to make some money. I spoke to Mort about my issues with the truck and now the A/C is out. He told me that I can have a newer truck, one of the last ones we got in back in October with the super singles on them. It's an '11 with 180K on the clock. I told him yes. The only concern I have is there's no fridge in these trucks. That to me is a very big issue. He said I should be able to get into one when I get back from the coast.

Got to the yard yesterday around 2pm, wrote my truck up for the A/C and a fault code. The shop immediately took my truck in and found that the fault code was due to a sensor going bad. It was fixed but the A/C needed more time in the shop. They think it's the compressor. I tell you, maybe I should change my ways. It seems I have bad Karma lately. Oh well, the company got me a room at the motel last night and I was told to be here at 7am which I am. The truck is now in the shop having a new compressor put on. I was told by Jason that I have a three stopper in LA that is being loaded at the same place I dropped my trailer at yesterday in Mountain Top. I'll get out to California early to do my reset and be ready to go after I kick these drops off next Friday.

On a sad note, I said goodbye to my good friend Garylobo. Gary took a job with an O/O right there by his house in Orlando. We talked it over until we were both blue in the face. The bottom line, it's for the benefit of he and his family. I fully understand his decision and wish him nothing but the best of luck. I'll miss you pal, good luck, God Bless, and be safe. And remember, if your new boss sends your happy Missouri backside into NYC call me, I'll get you in there like usual. Love you pal.

Thanks for the info...the more I read/hear about this company, the more I like it. My fiance is looking hard for a decent company to work for and I am going to suggest he give Calex a call and have a chat with them.

We normally team but we have animals and no-one to take care of them, so I need to stay home for the time being. Not sure how I feel about being a 'Truckers Wife' and not a driver...:biggrin_25523:

Don't ask my wife about being a truckers wife. I'm quite sure she would tell you exactly how it is.....lol. I know what you mean about the animals, we have 2 Labs that weigh 100lbs a piece and no one to watch them if my wife wanted to take a trip with me. And I sure wouldn't want to share the inside of a truck with all that weight. (The dogs, not the wife!)
