There is a fridge that fits into a cabinet on the truck that runs off of the truck DC power, no inverter required. The inverter that comes with the Tri-Pak APU is 1800 watts, and will easily run a 7-800 watt microwave. If you want to get a AC fridge and plug into the inverter you shouldn't have a problem either.

We have a powerchill for the fridge (DC), a microwave (700 watt) strapped to the underside of the top bunk, a TV with DVD player (all AC). We also have, to cook with (AC Powered), a george forman, a crockpot and a sandwich maker (DC powered). It all works for us, but we do not run anything when the microwave is running.
One cabinet is dedicated to cooking stuff. Oh, and he has a Cascadia (so you have an idea of space) -
Sounds like a nice set-up there TinyToez! Does anyone use a toaster oven?

Well, his screen name is
"not me" spelled backwards...
zebcohobo Thanks this. -
How'd you get a big one??? Ok... mine is 1350W. The one I had in my Century was 1500W. Somehow Sazook gamed the system and got an 1800W inverter!

How do we live out here? Well I work on living quite well myself!

As his former trainer, I can assure you that is just a coincidence.
Without giving anything away, those letters are in the correct order and make up elements of his real, actual name -
No idea, I had an 1800 watt in my Century, warranty replaced by another 1800 watt, and my Cascadia had an 1800 watt in it when I got it. The actual branding on the inverter is Thermo King. I know they were installing inverters on trucks with Rigmasters and other APU's that weren't Thermo King inverters, perhaps the lower rated ones are those?

We got a generic mini fridge from walmart, a microwave, 19 inch TV, and an xbox 360. That's really about it as far as everything goes. Outside of the fridge, we unplug things if we need too.
In our free time outside of 'instruction', we watch movies or play video games. -
Lessee... livin' in the truck. Hmmm....
I had a NY strip and salad last night for dinner - cooked in the truck. Watched a new DVD for entertainment (when not enjoying the "can't park the truck worth s$&t show") and helping spot for another Prime driver jacking his truck into a tough spot. -
Sounds about how I plan to live while OTR
Sounds like a good dinner you had there, did you use a portable grill to cook the steak or a skillet?
