This is true but finding a shop that will turn a motor up past the driveline components ratings can be a different story. -
PDI or BullyDog is the answer to that. I would not wast my time or money getting a "factory" uprate.Jfaulk99 and American-Trucker Thank this. -
That can be tough. One of the better co.s I worked for a friend that worked at a trailer dealership told me about. They used them to p/u used trailer that they bought. You might try asking around at some of the local repair shops and parts stores. If they have a good reputaion for paying thier bills they are probably a reputable company.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
Also being form N.C. you might look into pulling containers. Not the most glamours of jobs but you can make money at it and they dont require a newer truck. I started out with Container Port Group.

When I run for CPG they were paying what most other long places were paying. I was averaging 1.18 a mile for all miles if I remember right and that was back in 03/04. I was running from Baltimore to Columbus. I live in the middle so I was home most everyday. You wont get rich doing it but it lets you get your foot in the door as a O/O. It can be a stepping stone.

Sounds like good advice. -
I am from Mt. Holly and started doing rail containers in the Charlotte Area over 10 years ago. They don't pay very good and tear a truck up very fast.
Now I have had my own Authority for 9 years now and will not go back.
