In wisconsin we have a problem with too many deer in the state (atleast thats what they tell us at the beginning of every hunting season). It's actually scary to drive in the northern part of the state especially at dawn or dusk! I would hate to be driving down the road and have a hundred pound moose jump or walk in front of you.:biggrin_25521:

    Hey another Wisconsin poster
Up nort you have a better chance of hitting one with the vehicle than during gun season.

A friend of mine took one out once... and said it was a wild ride as each axle went over the downed animal. Said there was blood all over his cab and trailer... and the cab of the truck behind him.

He's got a nice big-### moose bumper on his truck now! :yes2557:

Moose collisions are a real problem where I am in New Brunswick, too. Seems I hear about a big truck hitting a moose between Grand Falls and Jacksonville about 3 times a week. I-95 into Maine is pretty thick with moose as well, at certain times of year.

Yup, hubby has collected a couple of deer up here on Highway 1 in the Rogers Pass in BC heading to and from Calgary. So now he is sizing up getting a moose bumper from Magnum for his T600. They actually don't make them for the T600's but they have one for a new model Kenworth that will fit the T600 just swell with an adapter plate, so hubby is designing his adapter plate to be made by a welder friend, and on she will go. The Magnum moose bumpers are darn nice looking actually. Can toss a full grown bear a hundred feet--friend did just that with his Magnum bumper. By the way, BC's politicians--a great load of complete loons, have passed a law making it legal to take home your road kill. They also want more women and children to take up hunting. Yup, go out and get your new moose bumper and bring home dinner-like I or any other modern women are going to gut and skin the darn thing? Unfortunately up here in BC we don't require IQ tests for politicians or judges--pity.

In Newfoundland, going up route 430 to St. Anthony you usually see about 40-50 moose in a 5 hour span. I hat when they get on the highway because all they do is dance lol they are slippery buggers!
