Well heard two things about Georgia. Heard they train these for that side of US but also heard they send people to SLC to get their cdl because I heard Georgia has stricter requirements to obtain them. Not 100% sure so don't hold it to me just a few things I read here.

not sure about the requirements but, yes you train for a week in atlanta to get permit then they ship you off to slc for the real deal but then you get your cdl xfer to your home state after that.

Well it has been a while since I have been on. My training is complete and I have upgraded now to company driver. The upgrade was easy. Came in did a short driving test to see if you can shift right and make turns. Then sat at a computer watched a few videos and took some test online. Don't worry about the tests you can't fail them. If you get a question wrong it says wrong answer try again and you choose another one. Once that is done they upgrade you in the computer. I am at home now for the weekend and have to call on Monday to see if they have a truck for me yet. They have been having problems with having trucks here in Fontana so will see how it goes. Can't wait to get back out on the road and this time all on my own.
As far as the school goes in Georgia yes they do ship you to SLC to take the driving test and get your CDL. As far as hiring out of New York I don't think that CRS does hire from there because it is one of the states that you can't transfer your CDL to. I'm not sure about that so you will have to check but the only states that CRS doesn't hire from are the ones that you can't transfer your CDL too. -
Well hello there Mrs. Roommate. I text him every now and again and it sounds like he is having fun. Spending a lot of time in SLC from what I hear.
I talked to a recruter on a Tues and had to get everything in to her by wed, I did not so I could have gone the following week. I waited 3 weeks so I could get some stuff done around the house. I have seen most people take about a month before they start class.JimBob24 Thanks this. -
Hello it has been a while. I am still training. My trainer has had some priority loads that went from CA to OH and we drove 7000 this week. We are now resetting at a Casino in NM and will be in Fontana tonight or early in the morning monday. So far all is well I am up to 120hrs. My trainer said he will bring me in on the 29th no matter how many hours I have. That kind of stinks, but atleast I now know when I will be upgrading.
Training is going well. It was a little hard getting use to sleeping in the truck while it was running, but when you get tired you adjust real quick. -
Hey folks good to see you all are doing well. BigRigg you might have to come to GA to get a truck i heard the terminal here is full of them
-
Hey I would do that too as long as I can get out on the road. Hell hook up with someone from here in Fontana team drive to GA get a truck and head back.Empirev5 Thanks this.

Thank's for great info so far, i'm as you can tell by my age, need's too get back into shape as i read your weight part of text, i have hexagon barbell weights i bought at sale, all sizes, so i dig those oyt of storage and start traing, i know or what i think there trying too do and that is to like unloading there trl by doing that and far as the wall pull of 100 pounds, i think i got a old fish scale somewere i can mount too wall and some bungee chords, and i understand that too, it like pulling a pallett of goods with floor jack, i do work in a warehouse and pulling a pallet full of candy 300 feet is no easy task, i have too rec in the dock , then wheel it all the way too front of store, were they empty it out in the candy bin's,but i only do that a couples times a week, next i allready have cdl-class A , but no hazmat or medical card, so my way there and motel and stuff like that, i plan too pay my own way, that way i dont feel like i owe anyboby , if something happens along the way,and they send me home,ok fast foward, i'm still in the yard , got my trainer all is good for next 6 week's, i'm a fast leaner and he let's me go early, good, now is the big quistion as they sit me down in front of everyboby at the big table, solo or team, i like the idea of teaming, but i been down that road before, he would sit in the casnio all night , my time was up too drive for the day, i need my break and load was due there by 7 am np, if he was driving and not in the casnio, i go in a page him 4 times , we gotta go, he rip's m head off for making him lose his winning streak, o -well not my problem , the load is , i dont like getting late call's, nobody doe's anway i just some bad experance with teaming, but i like the idea with truck moving all the time, so i probly tell em solo decatied run and if i have too work up too that ,so be it,

Well I just got done reading this thread from post 1 to post 139. Big Rigg gets big props for this. I've been talking to a recruiter for a week now and have set a report date for Conley GA on August 29. I believe Pank83 will be with me in that class unless something happens and changes that.
Anyway Rigg this thread has put me at ease. I was nervous about the training and way this program works, specifically wether this was a CRST type BS deal or a real way to get the CDL, find work and actually make good pay from it. Unless anyone objects I will continue this thread once I begin the process.robngraves Thanks this.
