    Hi everyone,
Today I turned 55 and found out I just screwed myself and dug another hole I have to climb out of. I've been on this site for the last year doing research about OTR driving, lots of information :biggrin_25518:. I told myself when I reached 55 I want to try something different.

I drove for a couple years back in the 80's truck & pup,end dump and transfer and liked the longer hauls from LA to San Diego or LA to Palm Springs that I got once in awhile instead of the little loopty-loop runs. Anyways I got out of it and went back to welding & wrenching and let my Class A expire like a dummy.
About a year ago I payed out of my pocket and went to a truck school and got my Class A back and was accepted at W/S 10 day orientation in Missoula but at the last minute I declined and decided it wasn't the right time.
Now I'm ready, I called and just found out since the school was almost a year ago W/S requires I take the whole course over again not just a refresher course:biggrin_25513: . So now I have to come up with another plan because I'm not going to spend that kind of money again. Oh well live and learn more research I guess.

Happy Birthday! I'm sure you can find a company somewhere that'll let you get by with a refresher. Good luck.

Thanks, so anyways I found out since the truck school I took was almost a year ago I at least have my CDL again, but let the window of opportunity close.
From what I understand the better starter companys will require a full 160hr class again and the not so good a 80hr refresher course. So since I know I have to pay my dues making less money starting out ,I will stick with what I'm doing threw this year then take the 80hr refresher course around Jan,Feb and make the change then.
Hopefully things will start to pick up and get better in 2012 plus from what I've read trucking slows down in the winter time anyways. I will just keep learning more from this site. Later for now....
