Yes, considering TN only issues one plate?![]()
I do agree on the fine, but I'm sure they do make people think twice about blowing through an intersection.

Florida also issues one plate.
As for the greencove springs cameras, they dont own them out right. They lease them from a company for $15,000 per month. So if they only have $1,000 worth of tickets issued then that means Greencove just lost $14,000 that month. I believe they will thin out and then be taken down because they'll become a black hole of money spending.123456 Thanks this. -
Yes, TN was smart how they brokered the deal with the red light camera companies......costs them nothing and all profit for the communities that use them. I just read about another state who is set up the same way, so I'm assuming that is the norm.

Green Cove Springs officer informed me several weeks ago they review all the tapes, and truckers are given a break, so long as they were not speeding.
I try to mind my manners in their fair town, but I have blown all of them, never had a problem.DrtyDiesel Thanks this. -
Im just hoping because of the circumstances I'll be alright if they got anything from my car on the camera lol -
I just came home to find a nice summons in the mail for running a red light. It happened two weeks ago. There was a picture of my car at the light when it was red, a second picture with me about 20 feet past the red light and a third shot that was a close-up of my license plate. Just paid the fine today ($85.00). The woman said it's no points just the fine but she also said to read the paragraph about people who hold a commercial drivers license. It states that two or more "serious" violations will be reported to DMV and loss of your commercial license may occur. That's not good. These traffic light cameras are all over my town (I sure notice them NOW). And Now I have to be super carefull not to go through even a yellow light, can't chance another ticket. My girlfriend also drives the car and the municipality didn't care who was behind the wheel. She said the cars registered owner gets the ticket. I'm sure a good lawyer could argue that point in traffic court.

They have to be able to identify the driver to mail the ticket.
BTW, I have a brother in law who is with Multnomah County Sheriff. He says that they typically ignore shots of large trucks because they often take so much time to get thru an intersection, and often as a result, the pictures are nice shots of trailers, backs of tractors, but lack license plates, Driver ID's.

The problem I have with the ones they installed in our town is the speed limit and short amount of time the light stays yellow. 55mph road and the light only stays yellow for about two seconds. When you're doing 55 and you're about 60 feet away from the light and it turns yellow you have to lock up your brakes to stop in time. It's gotten to the point around here where I have to slow down to 40mph at every light in preparation to slam on my brakes if the light turns yellow.

Speed limit is usually lower in an intersection.
Some have signs showing it, most do not.
If the limit is 55 it is most likey 45 or even 35 at the intersection.
One county road we ran on nearly every day had an intersection marked 35 MPH. New driver I was running with didnt believe me that the local LEO sat behind the abaandoned gas station there and blew thru it at 60.
Long story short, he got pulled over and written for 60 in a 35.
