I always used a spreadsheet to track my mpg. I can remember getting a call from the fuel dept. that my fuel usage was too high, he showed me under 6.0, my spreadsheet showed 6.42, I sent him a copy and he was able to find his error. I think he started using my sheet to calculate with, apparently what he was getting from the system was not coming out accurately.

Sorry, I meant to say 2 months, I guess I hit the wrong key

The one on the dash is completely inacurate, go by the QC and subtract .5 to .6 and you will be very close.nascarchuck said: ↑Question - How accurate is the MPG display on the dash and QC? Dash is showing 7.5 and QC is showing 7.2.Click to expand...

Sorry Emulsified, but someone misinformed you. I went to Stevens school last August, they give you a booklet that hits SOME of the 'high' points of the test and they cover a little bit of it in class, but for the most part you are on your own to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY the CDL drivers handbook when you get back to your room every night. They are too busy doing paperwork the first couple of days and teaching you to actually DRIVE the truck after that to spend a lot of time helping with the tests. I would advise anyone going to the school to start studying the handbook from their home state before going to Dallas, it will give you a head-start because you will be dropped off at the DOT to take your 1st test on Wednesday afternoon and every afternoon thereafter until you have passed all the tests.Emulsified said: ↑As for the test? If you're coming to Stevens for your CDL, they will cover everything you need to know to pass the test and concentrate on those things that the test centers.
Maybe someone else can answer.Click to expand... -
Thats right, you need to download the Texas handbook and start studying the section for the permit test first. Study all you can untill you get to school, then study every niteTRKRSHONEY said: ↑Sorry Emulsified, but someone misinformed you. Runningman, that may be the way you write, but it is NOT the way most people read. Effective communication is a KEY point in trucking, unless you learn to communicate better AND learn to be concerned with people understanding you, you will NEVER make it as a trucker!!!cyclingandrunningman said: ↑Thanks for a reply but that's just the way I wite and at least there's very good detail, good punctuation and I got my thoughts across to everyone. The spacing shouldn't be a problem if you pay attention to what you're reading.Just the same,be safe out there on the road.Keep your reading limited to text mesages.Ba

If I can queue in, for the 1st three weeks here at school you're taught everything needed to pass your DRIVING TEST. I agree 100% that you BETTER study the Texas CDL book and be ready to test BEFORE you get here. If you don't, you COULD be trying to play catch up trying to study AND passing your tests at the same time. The less time you spend taking your tests WILL give you more time in the trucks working on shifting...TRKRSHONEY said: ↑Sorry Emulsified, but someone misinformed you. What a c#$t! Guy writes a nice honest letter asking for help for a vet and you cop some diva attitude. Truckers are great communicators. What turnip truck did you fall off of? Half the truckers out there now days only know how to spell buffet. Dispatchers runnning newbies all over Hell's Half acre cause they can't tell Ft Worth from Ft Collins on a map. Never make it as a trucker unless-TRKRSHONEY said: ↑Runningman, that may be the way you write, but it is NOT the way most people read. . He made it through his time serving your sorry keister so go take a nap and get the wrinkles out of your old forehead. And you might stop and thank him for his service to you and yours. Truckers/great communicators! That's a peach Hon!
123456 Thanks this. -
What the F#%$ does him being a vet have to do with the price of eggs in China? And why are you doing your best to start arguments with every post you make in here? I appreciate a vets service as much as anybody, being one myself. but I dont go around shoving it in anyones face. I served my country and ask for nothing in return except the pay that was due me at the time. I dont need or want any preferential treatment from anyone like you seem to crave.Big Duker said: ↑What a c#$t!
