How many people in your class have made it out? Are you getting paid? Squeaky wheel gets grease.....just don't be to squeaky and get replaced!!!
Are there any lockers for things at the school? Where have you kept your laptop during all this?

He should be getting normal training pay as he is "waiting to be dispatched". I'm shocked Randell hasn't gotten him out, I never sat for more than a day waiting for a trainer and I am a non-smoker.
Shiftylots Thanks this. -
I know... I know... Im finding out there isnt much time out here...
-
I had to leave crosslands at 415a sat morn for the airport. one guy left fri evening as his trainer was on the yard and ready to leave.

You're going to think I'm out of my mind, but check the tightness of your battery terminals. It seems that a large current flow tends to heat them up causing an intermittent contact. Once they cool contact is reestablished and the truck will start. Had this same issue with the Pete my trainer at Stevens drove. Most wacked out thing I ever saw. Hope that helps.

Ask if Jason Williams is still training. If he's available he's great. Trained me back in '08. Giving them a name might just help your situation ... no guarantees of course.
-
You need to change them all and get a 4th like most of us run.

Randell is on vacation this week so Ive heard that its not going as quick.
Generic matches for a trainer are smoking and age. Appears that there is greater availability for non-smokers and older trainers so those who fit that criteria were out first. All the non-smokers were out on FRIDAY! About 1/2-2/3 of my class has been moved out already, I'm just waiting my turn.Shiftylots Thanks this. -
lots to read this morning...
emulsified, yep rattlebunny has one solution, had that problem on my T2000. Also heat kills batteries, we just don't notice it, has we don't need as much to start the truck. Having melted the post on a battery, the other batteries were also damaged.
Getting off the yard with a trainer, takes persistence, and flexibility. I went out with a trainer that smoked, I do not, but we talked first, and we had no problems, as it was his house, and his rules.
Made my pallet delivery on monday, and was dispatched to dodge city, with a DLD of noon tuesday.. but the load assignment had a trailer #, so I knew it would be ready soon. Headed the 60 miles, dropped my trailer, was told load not ready, but as I drove around, I say my trailer in the ready area.. headed out to grab some lunch, and got the message load is ready... finished lunch, picked it up and headed for LA, a 1 dropper too. Now this receiver is anal about appointment times, so no early delivery.
So the repower requests go in, but as is usual for me, no such luck. So it looks like I will be spending the day in Barstow, waiting..... -
Spoke with Jim in the shop and he thinks its the starter.
TK in Ontario replaced a belt and cleaned the battery terminals. Belt went bad again 6 weeks later. Then battery terminal a couple weeks after that.
TK replaced the belt. The tech said (privately) 'whoever changed that belt, did a ###### job'. TA in Kingman said it appeared teh cable to the battery had not been tightened properly.
Neither tech will put their neck out so I can go after Ontario, but I'm working thru Stevens to see if I can get some credit by their putting pressure on Ontario.
Had terminals checked in Ohio last night at the TA. (they comped it since TA had installed the new battery). Said all the connections are tight.
I know it's not good to change one battery only, but figured I could do better on price of additional batteries either at Dallas or when I'm home. Do it myself. I was curious if there was room for a 4th. Would be nice.
What I'd really like to do (but am too cheap to pay for) is have one 12v for the chassis (starter) and install four 6v deep cycle for the inverter when parked. Much like an RV.
So now I'm trying to decide if I want to go into the yard to have the starter fixed when I get to Ft Worth friday, or wait until I get to home next week and let KW fix it.
I know the yard is cheaper, but I hate to spend the weekend there for nothing. Could make more money running those two days than it will cost to fix at KW.
Dropping in Indy this morning. Nice to see sunshine again. It rained every day I was in New England. And I mean rain without stopping.
Felt like I was in Seattle in November!
Randall will be back monday.
