Level 2 Ins. in Texas, no citations but about 4-5 equip. violations
Level 1 Ins. in Kentucky, 2 equip. violations found, as a cause of one of them they put me OOS
I have a copy of every Ins. they have hit me with and these aren't the only ones. I'm probably already screwed...
Yes 3 co. drivers and 2 dispatchers along with about 26 O/O trucks. We aren't the only ones, they dispatch all the O/O as well.
Great company, Terrible equipment... Dont want to leave... What should I do?

No clue bro... Didn't like one so I tried the next, then the next... They are all the ####### same in the end... The only thing that changes is the truck...

Very hard to find a company that will treat you fair. If you got one, I'd stick with it.
Don't really sound like the truck owner knows what he's doing, though. Charge air cooler leaking is throwing money out the window. Play in the fifth wheel is dangerous.
I wouldn't run for $1.30/mi. I know there are o/o's doing it. They must be better with money then I am. A lot better. I wouldn't even try with a truck i own, let alone buy one to get into this arrangement.BigJohn54 Thanks this. -
Yea, its just a bad situation in general. I have even thought about just getting out of trucking all together and trying to find something else... -
Time is limited on here I have to get some rest. I know I flip flop from buying a truck and trying to stay here to just staying here and making the best of it to leaving and going to work for another outfit all the way to just getting out of trucking in general and its because I don't want to make another mistake. I want to pick the right road to go down this time and I really don't know what road that is... Thanks again for all the info... You all be safe and ill be back tomorrow lol...

I was the same way. It;s a cutthroat industry full of liars, cheats, and incompetancy. I kept quitting job and after job and eventually landed a great gig. I will retire from where I'm leased on to now. But many people don't get lucky like I did. Can't really give a good answer other then I know where your coming from. Good Luck!
bullhaulerswife, Subzero1985 and Logan76 Thank this. -
In this day in age I would just stay where you are, Times are tough in the world right now. I wouldn't bother untill you have something lined up that is a sure thing....
Subzero1985 Thanks this. -
If the trucks have DOT problems then you need to walk away from that company. To tell you the truth, if the company gets lots of DOT violations then they will not be in business long. If you get a ticket then you will have a problem finding a good company to work for. You have to protect your future. Now, if the truck issues are not DOT then you don't have anything to worry about other then being broke down.

The opening post stated "The people are great, the pay is great, I go home when I want, stay out as long as I want, and get to go pretty much wherever I want when it comes to running areas". Perhaps he's giving too much to his employees and not keeping enough for his own profit and equipment upkeep.

I just do not have any opinion on that question. I've never gone that road, nor had the desire to. I've known quite a few that did. Some of them did very well, some of them went belly up. I do know that you have to have a very good business plan, and use a lot of common sense to make it in that world.
And that really does speak volumes there. Yeah, there are "better" companies, and there are "worse" companies. The thing is that what is "better" for one person, may well be "worse" for another.
I know that none of this is helping you decide what to do. Only you can make those decisions, but hopefully you will continue to research before you make any change.
