Jim...I think we are misunderstanding each other. When you said this...

Yah maybe, we been on centralized atleast three years now. I dont have any problems and loads sent over the cadec means I dont have to talk to anyone. I think its great.

It made me think that you didnt like to talk to anyone...hence my "not a people person comment. Did I miss something?? And when yo said this...

What surprises me the most about kag is the total lack of uniformity thru-out the country.

It made me think that you were just nit-picking the company to show support for those Unionized idiots at KAG West. Sorry...its very touchy subject for me. I meant no disrespect.

You know the way are management talked we thought everyone was switching to paperless.

Everyone will eventually go paperless but I hope centralized dispatch is not part of it. We tried centralized dispatch already and pist off a lot of customers and drivers in the process. ll centralized dispatch wouldmean for us (with KTC) is less jobs.

I would like to think that it would be easier to talk to you but you seem like a real pompass #######.

Not at all....I'm just very "pro-company" and this Uniontalk has got me and a lotof other folks on edge. Again...sorry if I came off poorly.

By the way its not my centralized,

I didnt say it was "your centralized", I said "your centralized dispatch VIEWS"...in other words, I was commenting on your opinion of centralized dispatch. When we tried it, we lost a #### good dispatcher and customers were getting pist because they were used to talking to our local dispatch office and, all of the sudden, they are talking to people who couldnt give them the quick and efficient answers they were used to. We all fussed enough about it so DW switched it back to local dispatch. We got our dispatcher back, the customers were happy again and it all worked out.

its kags and it will be yours to when your division catches up with technology.

LOL...yea...we are all caught up and beyond. Maybe we'll go back to it some day. But KTC is the largest sub of KAG so it may take more than a CADEC and a centralized dispatch center.

ok,understand steelcity. We have the same views about the union.
Dispatching in my area was made better by the cadec and added jobs.
we have schedulers that set the loads up for all the different accounts that are then sent to our dispatchers who send them to the driver in the truck.
Now you might think their is to many people involved but it cut down on runouts, I hav'nt been to a station out of gas since.
Also retains have become a thing of the past.
With the set up we have now most days run as smooth as chocolate pie with the exception of our kroger acount with each store needing atleast two loads per day, the inventories are updated every hour.
Every driver still has a nextel for communication when we need it, but honestly, we could go days without needing to get a hold of dispatch.

I get around, talked to alot of drivers from different subs and they all think thier the larger than the next(who cares).
I've run klemm loads, nct loads, ptc, would like to run some transort service company loads out of toledo, maybe in the future.

So anyway this is good work, easy money and are turnover rate is next to nothing so I think most people are happy enough working out of toledo.

Maybe you didn't get the memo! :biggrin_25523:

I am working for Eagle. I can figure out how you can work 6 days legally. I had 3 1/2 hrs left in a 5 day week.

KAG bought us out in oct last year, I work for Jack B kelley out of Amarillo TX. Live in Fl north of Tampa. I pulled gasoline for 8 years in Fl and was not impressed by KAG in the 80s and aint impressed now. Bunch of micromanaging nazis! I've been there, done that, got the T-shirt and wore it out. They BOUGHT my employer but DIDN'T BUY MY SOUL! I'm now looking for something else. I'm pulling LNG out in UT and have options. Y'all b safe now y'hear.

I see that no one has posted in this threa for 6 months but I am going to see if I get any feedback.

I currently work for Enterprise Transportation, well actually I now work for KAG as it was just announced to us that we have been bought out. Within the month the uniforms and name is changing.

Can anyone tell me what to expect in regards to benefits, pay scale, load/unload pay etc for a chemical driver?

I guess I need to make a game plan if its time to jump ship.

    Thanks,

    David

You are basically....screwed..(Former BP/ARCO driver/South Gate, CA. terminal). KAG will cut whatever wages you are satisfied with and their insurance...sucks. And as other posters have pointed out, get ready for some EXTREME micromanagement by the boys with the laptops. And yes, KAG offered me a job here in Southern California after I left ARCO..Sure, I'll haul fuel in Los Angeles for HALF the wages I was getting and crap benefits...KAG, the "SWIFT" of the fuel business, destroying wage scales nationwide, one company at a time..Did you know that the financial backer of KAG is Goldman-Sachs ? Those same wonderful Wall Street people that brought you the mortgage "meltdown"..? "Abandon all hope, Ye who enter here"..

KAG-CTI has drivers leased on where I work they get 10 cpm less than we do as company drivers and around $5.50 an hour less on the hourly pay..poor safety and training programs..i cant see where anything good can come out of KAG buying your company ..but I have never personally worked for them and dont plan on it hopefully
