All the pullers in Quebec use both tuned ecm along with a box. Not all of them are made by PP though.
Even in my ecm using only factory cat files the extra fuel from the box allows me to turn 2500rpm.

I believe it already has a Stage 2 tune, not sure how much more I can gain with the ecm alone.Makin between 750-780HP already I'm told, Hoping to have a dyno verification soon

Who else makes a add on box aside from PP, bullydog, and TS??
open to options. maybe I need somethin from north of the border -
I stacked six PP boxes and I'm on my way to the moon right now. Texting this B4 I leave Earth's atmosphere and cell signals.

PP, TS, forget what the european one is called, it starts with an s and also boost engerineering makes them as well but I dont know if he sells them to the public or not.
Bully dog doesn't make a power box they just modify ecm files just like a pdi ecm -
waiting for V8lenny to top this one with european technology...
have a good trip Semi...

Ok the way I see it is if you stack a box on top of a tune you could have the box saying to do one thing and the ECM saying another and I would guess the ECM overrides it. Now in the pickup truck diesel performance world stacking a box onto of a program does not work the best. The best is having custom tunes made specifically for your truck and in the case of using a rig for pulls I would say have PDI or mr Haney put a custom tune together onto an ECM for that purpose only that way you get exactly what you want and if you want to play with timing or fuel or anything in between it can be done

The boxes don't interfere with the ecm at all whether it stock or custom. All ther boxes do is take the signal from the ecm to open the injectors and add voltage and duration to that signal and send it to the injector solenoids. Theres nothing complicated in the boxes that monitors the whole engine like an ecm. All the box cares about is the amount of fuel to add via dial-different levels and the boost sensor ( obviously it add more fuel the higher the boost it sees). Then it has a pyro reading so that if it reaches 1250deg it will cut the fuel back if its still fuelingBigJohn54 Thanks this.

When BD was starting to come out with the big rig downloaders they held web based seminars that I took part in. One of my many questions was about stacking of the downloader and a box. This was before I realized the true benefits of just the downloader itself. After dealing with different custom tunes and looking over the industry, I decided that just having a custom tune is more than enough for my sled pulling needs (at least for now). But I can see how stacking of products could work if a particular game plan was laid out first. Basically, what kind of end result are ya looking for (temps, power, length of use, and of course service). If I do have to move on to stacking (which I don't think I will ever have to) I will NOT run anything from PP. I suggest looking into what Haney, PDI, BD, and others are doing.

Ok I got ya. It's much more completed on what I'm use to, the pickup trucks. In that world it's all in the tuning. You could dump fuel into the cylinder and make about 250 hp on a 250cc injector and then change the timing and pulse width and everything else involved andthe truck is making 600 at the wheels
