    Eric,

Unless you can get that degree without getting student loans, I'd say forget about it. What will you do with a music degree? You will teach for 24,000 a years IF YOU'RE LUCKY. Then again, the states are cutting their budgets left and right and many teachers are losing their jobs.

Trust me on this one, I was in the education field for twelve years and I know what I am talking about. A degree in Music is your ticket to...wow...hopefully I will become a manager here at Target someday.

Trucking seems much more PRACTICAL and something that society can actually use. I don't mean to rain on your parade, it's just that I have a LOT of experience in the world of universities and financial aid and I'm telling you if you have to get student loans...DON'T DO IT!!

There are basically two bright spots in the economy...Maritime and Trucking. I almost have a masters and I can tell you what it has done for me....nada! Zilch!! Nothing!!!

Good luck with trucling and hopefully you'll stay in it or something else that is practical.

    Eric1990 Thanks this.

I would encourage anyone to NOT go into a career strictly for the money. Find something that you really enjoy and then find a career that matches your interests. When you do something you enjoy the money will usually follow.

I have a couple of family members who were music majors. Both have done very well with their careers. Teaching is not known for big salaries, but there can be a lot of satisfaction gained from teaching. I think that most people would be much happier if they learned to play a musical instrument.

Prime is pretty good. $200 every week while in training to get your cdl.
After that you get 12 cents a mile or $600 a week whichever is greater while your doing your tnt miles.
