Bear, they pay detention so let Pat know.
-
Yea Pat put in for detention. Wont be much but better than zero. I finally got out of there but put me behind on the preplanned next load from Richfield to La Crosse. I got to La Crosse yesterday about 5 p.m. and did a drop n hook. All went smooth there for a change.
Headed to BRF after that to get some work done on the truck and to get my inverter installed. It's installed FINALLY! Only took 8 months. So I'm planning on saving some denero on the food going forward. Sat in BRF longer than I wanted to. Got out of there tonight around 6 ish p.m. Got a load going to Trenton since I have home time in for tomorrow. Gonna wind up with 1760 miles this week. Suks bull ballz. If things don't look up and I mean immediately, I'm gonna have to sign up for the government cheese program again.
Had to give a driver a ride from BRF to Gary, IN. He got terminated. I won't go into details out of respect for him but will say it had to do with him having an incident and not reporting it to safety immediately. He waited 2 days to contact them. I don't know if there's more underlying circumstances or not, just going by what he told me. So new guys, if anything happens report it immediately.
I'm sitting at Remington Pilot right now to get some sleep before I go on into Trenton. I have the hours to run but been up since 6 and sat around the terminal all day waiting on my truck. So I'm a little tuckered.
Have a great weekend everybody, and be safe please. -

True I've had a few slow weeks lately. There has been no change in miles overall. A lot depends on the freight and if you're in the right lanes at the right time. I think most of the drivers are still averaging say 2700-3100 miles a week. That's average and will certainly vary. I still have no regrets of being with Millis and think most of the newer drivers share that. The thing I think hurts the most is the newer drivers are at the bottom of the pay scale. Thus somebody making .31 a mile definitely feels the pinch more than a driver at the .42 per mile.

Got my microwave for my truck today. Looking forward to saving $$ on groceries. Example: Hotdogs at T/S - usually $2.25 or so for 2. Package of 8 at WallyWorld $1.49.
Already had a coffee maker, was just waiting for the inverter. My gawd the price of coffee is outrageous. $9 and some change for a can. I normally spend $3 a day or so buying at T/S. -

I just threw that out as a number. It will vary depending on what pay scale you're on, mileage bonus, etc... But yes I am on Per Diem.
-
If thats true besides the money factor do they do it because they want to get the driver fast experience, learn the ropes or what are the reasons? -
Hey bear made my first pot of coffee in the truck this am. It was very enjoyable and saved me about $4 and was better than most t/s joe. In fact didn't need fuel today so didn't need to stop at t/s just quick in and out at pickle parks been nice not dealing with t/s traffic just to get coffee. When u get back out give me a Hollar im curious what u went with for a microwave.
