I've been hauling coal in KY and WV. I've always drove nice equipment 09 379 petes with all the bells and whistles. Just sick of coal hauling, 126000 lb on narrow crooked 1 and 2 lane roads. So I start orientation at Riverside on the 3rd. Going in as a Company driver. We'll see how it goes.

Well I'm going on my third full week. I had some Truck problems and then developed some health problems so was there was a delay in hitting it hard. So far I am not impressed at all. Lots of 350-500 mile runs which wouldn't be so bad if you could drop hook and go. but waiting 5 to 10 hrs between loads sucks. 2600 first full week and probably 22 24 the next. can't live like that. I was told 27-3. Most companies i have seen will do their best to seen that a new hire has all the miles he wants to get some money in the bank. It seems like RTI motto is lets see how long it takes to starve him, her out. I gonna give it a few more weeks and if it doesn't improve bye, bye. Sad cause I really want to work.

RTI is always running these ads for their fleece/purchase. They ADMIT in the ad that you will make .42 a mile after expenses. And the dummies still line up! You can make more than that driving someone else s truck and have benefits.

Haven't put the details together yet, but February seems to have been a fairly decent month.

So, what's the latest news on the lease purchase with this company? Me and a friend are thinking of joining the team. I have never owned or tried these lease purchase programs so just wanna be sure i don't hang myself. Any feedback would be appreciated.:biggrin_25525:

rti doesn't have big fuel discounts. they only get 5 to 6 cents per gallon off cash price. I have been researching them.
