have you driven more a few thousand miles alone in a truck?:biggrin_25523: You just started with werner...and your going to come on here here and tell us how great they are? you havent gotten past the lolli pops and rainbow part....:biggrin_2554:

Do a full year there and then come back and post about them, or better yet start a blog thread and do daily updates to show other new drivers what its really like there, but dont waste anyones time with "i've been solo for 2 days and this is the best company ever crap"

and no to your question, even though you already know the answer..

Not to quick on the uptake are ya?

No, I don't work for Werner, strike one.

I have driven way more miles in a truck then you could dream of in your 21 years of existence young pup. So strike 2. Don't be fooled by the profile of someone.

I also don't make a habit of trying to give people advice about companies I have absolutely no first hand knowledge of.

Just because I don't have years of experience driving an 18 wheeler on the civilian side, don't assume that I have no knowledge of driving a truck and the trucking industry in general. Strike 3.

I never claimed the company I worked for is the best company ever, but you seem to think companies you have absolutely no clue about are crap, strike 4 on you.

I do blog about my trucking, you should read em sometime, maybe you will learn something.

I read a post on a site where a driver complained about WS, they must really suck, no really, I read it on the interwebz!!:biggrin_25517:

Now I dont think we really need to get into an arguement over it. Everyone has their own opinion. Now I have read more bad things on here than good about Werner, but then again, most of BIG companies on here have more bad than good. I'm not gonna go toe to toe with someone whos been trucking longer than I've been alive. But everyone has to have a start, and closer to home sounds better to me.

Ok my bad on the reply most people that jump in like you did are employees of said company with 5 minutes of exp.

2nd you dont have to have worked for a company to know about them.

3rd there isnt a single bad post about W/S on this forum.

anyway i dont wanna derail this thread, lets play nice now, k?

don't want to derail it either, so no worries on my end, I just feel like if people don't have first hand knowledge with a company, they really should not comment on them.

I know someone that has worked for swift for 10 years, but I wouldn't sit here and give my opinion on them, he likes it there, and good for him, and he would tell anyone that 99% of the crap you read here is bs from bad drivers who couldn't make it as a trucker, that is why I don't comment on companies I have no first hand knowledge of. I don't know if he is bsing me about how he likes it there, or if he is telling the truth, ego is not mans best friend.

so back to the op, I would urge you to do all the research you can, and make a decision based on that. Look at the pay, home time, look at the ratings for these companies on the fmcsa website and make a decision on your own.

One of my 3 sons is training with Swift.FYI Swift just won the walmart account away from Greatwide in 3 terminals ;Brundige Al.Arcadia Fl and one other Florida terminal. They are looking for 300 drivers to fill these accounts and are offering it to their Owner Ops and company drivers. These are Day Cab, home every night jobs,a 4 stop load pays an additional $105.My son wouldn't go for these because we're from NJ but you may want to consider this .So far my son's got nothing bad to say about Swift;only good reports so far.
