Well, my third unit (TND 700) in just over a year just crapped out. It was on when I went in to pay for my fuel, I came out and it was off and won't turn back on. The first one I had, the sound quit working within a week so Petro exchanged it for me. The second one I had, the charging port came out of the unit when I unplugged it. Rand was good enough to exchange it for me through the mail. They sent me this one about 8 months ago and now it doesn't work. I am just out of warranty so I guess I'm SOL.
I will say I really like the features offered in this device but the hardware sucks!

I can read a map better than most and have done it in many diffrent countries on or off road.. I am just trying to avoid having a hundred diffrent city maps. From city to city I use my RM atlas and the city blowups when possible. I will continue to go online and look at the online maps rather than carry diffrent hard maps. Just because the Peice of junk wants me to go that way doesn't mean I do. It got me once now I always double check it. It is just wrong so often that it is almost complete junk. I get better routing from a $150 Garmin but it isn't a truck one. When I bought this it wasn't advertised as an experiment. It was supposed to be the real deal.....Well it aint. It is much like snake oil. If someone could break the code and get the routing right it would come in really handy...... Half the time if you call shippers and receivers the idiot on the other end can't speak English or give decent directions so was just looking for somthing to help make the job a little easier.

Mark they really need to fix the Parkway issues in KY and a few other states that they are truck legal . Not every state is New York where some parkway are not truck legal ..
I tested a compeitor unit .. Just came out ..
Same route ...
Rand was over 200 miles different due to parkway issues so I know its gotta be in the hardware cause not all truck gps avoid them
Just heads up thanksMark Kling Thanks this. -
I just did the map update with the micro SD card & had a couple of questions. According to my take on the info the new update was to give me expanded truck services & entire multi-route mileage & routing. Can't find the truck services & the multi route feature only gives the mileage for the entire route, but only gives the routing for the first leg. Am I missing something?

I have a TND500 (s/n A 47 T5C 170193 ) which will not thru-route on many major highways. Here are some examples:
I-76 EB east of exit 286 in PA
I-81 NB between mm0 and mm5 in PA
I-287 SB north of I-78 in NJ
I-90 WB near Batavia, NY
QEW EB up to exit 27 in Ontario
Always wants to take some convoluted route rather than straight through these (and other) locations. No restrictions or reason for it. Even set it to car mode on a couple of these and it still won't go straight through. I've sent most of these to Rand but have never seen them fixed. Fortunately, I know where I'm going with these but I'm wondering how many times I've taken stupid routing in areas where I'm not familiar with the roads?
Any suggestions or advise on how to get this resolved?

expanded truck services - these are under the POI services button at the top of the page if you click on Travel Centers.

My 700, before it quit working, would tell me I was over height on I-25 through Denver. I had the height set at 13' 6". It did the same thing on I-55 south of Memphis.
