Its Union related as well. When all the competitors for Drivers are Union they have to match that pay scale. The other side of that coin is cost of living tends to be higher in areas dominated by unions.

Ya markham is a hole, welcome to the hood. However there are other terminals with some real ace-holes working there and dumb as the day is long. :biggrin_25510: We also have the best dispatcher in the company by far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think its the nature of our dispatch system for the home terminal dispatch to be among the best for each individual driver. Home based drivers generally get the better loads from that terminal. The trade off is you get paid for sitting when away from home so they are motivated to get you moving if they can. If there are 2 loads loading at the same time, one is 1000 miles and another is 350 the home boy will get the better load generally.

That is true Rob, However old catfish must not know out of town drivers are dispatched by log op's not that terminal. I get to talk to them alot as I run more system loads than dedicated, more money and not so boring. Just got back from Savannah log op's gave me a load going to the upper u.p. in Michigan, Thank you. :biggrin_25519:

Well if you dont think Jeff is any good well I dont know what to tell you! He is making me a lot of money and gets me home without a problem. Maybe you should just run the south and stay away from Markham, you seem to have lots of anger towards them, not healthy!:biggrin_2559:

I will be headed that way tomorrow. Got a system load delivering in Holland Mi on Tuesday. I deal with Log Ops about half the time on system loads. Always out west. Lots of time its the local terminal though.

I dont mind dealing with them at all, they always get me headed back toward home unless you request to stay out. The last time I did that though they said no and sent back towards markham. We have been extremely busy which is good with me. Have a safe trip to holland mi. I am headed to NJ, YUCK!
