you'll always find someone who wasnt happy at any company, as a company driver your going to get trucks you dont like, all companies can make some employee happy all the time, not all companies can make all employee happy all the time, pick your battles wisely, For me, if I was a company driver, I was happy with, as long as it was a dependable truck, I'd would have stay'd

If you thought Werner was an OK company, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding another OK company. LOL

Yeah, we all know how that ended, it turned out to be a nightmare for him instead of a dream. And, 43 years later everyone is still waiting for the dream to become reality.Last edited: Aug 18, 2011

I run local LTL and love my job. My biggest complaint is slip seating. I never know what I'm going to drive until I pull into the yard and perform a pre-trip on one. That's my downside. My upside is weekends off and home daily. There's always a trade off in trucking.

Sorry to say but the OP is just a sign of today's truckers (not all, but most). They don't want to work their way up the ladder, doing the hard work and driving the older tractors. It's all about "I want it now", instant gratification.
Doesn't want to drive up North (too cold?) or in the mountains (too scared?). With only 3 years experience, your pickings are going to be slim. You're still a rookie and on a learning curve for the next several years. You don't have the experience or the ability to dictate your terms to any trucking company or OO.
I'm not going to wish you luck in your search for that "gravy job" because your lack of experience puts us all in danger. I hope you come to your senses and get the experience driving in the mountains, snow, sleet, iced roads, etc. Do that for a few years and you might be able to dictate your terms...to a certain extent.vinsanity, flyingmusician, mr truckdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -

Yup....in most any job, you must bust your butt and pay your dues...
Stick with it for 1+ year and by most reports, things get better....3-5, much better...different folks situation will cause different choices...a small company with better pay and 0 benefits may be fine if your spore gets the benefits, but a bigger place with benefits may be better for many....all will have bs, just different flavors...
Trucking is a tough job...BS is a fact of life with any job....truckers just have many more hours to fume over it driving down the road.....
