How do you take notes or record things while driving

    I use a small 3"x4" notebook.. I write like this:
    *WY@605___ sometime before I cross the state line; then just write in the last 2-3 digits as I approach the border.

    I'll just memorize the numbers if its an awkward moment, and fill them in as soon as I'm feeling comfy.

    My GPS tracks miles in each state(by date) for me, all I have to do is update logbook each time I stop and trip envelope at end of trip...
