I just received information from a recruiter at Watkins/Shepard giving me the earnings of an entry-level driver right out of orientation. I would like to know if they are realistic.

    .28 cents/mile first 6 months
    x10,000 miles/month
    $2,800 (milege pay)
    $100 (tuition reimbursement)
    $200 (ave. monthly bonus pay/month)
    $200 (ave. monthly unload pay)
    $100 (ave. monthly layover pay)
    ________________________________
    $3,400 (ave. monthly earnings-new driver)

    .30 cents/mile second 6 months
    x12,000 miles/month
    $3,600 (mileage pay)
    $100 (tuition reimbursement)
    $200 (ave. monthly bonus pay/month)
    $200 (ave. monthly unload pay)
    $100 (ave. monthly layover pay)
    __________________________________
$4,200 (ave. monthly earnings- new driver)

    $45,600 the first year

Thats exactly what I was told. I too posted a thread asking the same thing. The only difference in what I was told and what you were told is that I would start at .29 cpm. I guess you will be getting your loan reimbursed. I went through WIA so I do not qualify for loan reimbursement. I know my information will be no help to you because we may have been told the same thing by the same recruiter! LOL. The recruiter did send me a pay scale. If you would like it I can forward it to you. Nobody has replied to my thread yet, so I will keep an eye on both of ours until we get some confirmation.

My only comment would be that during the second six months, I doubt they will get you 12,000 miles per month every time. That's going to be much harder than it seems.

Why do you say that Ripcord? Do you work for W/S? Do you know anyone that works there? Help me out! I' m considering W/S myself.
