Never delivered to it but the Coca Cola place in Wilmar MN but I've driven by there and have to say their lot is TINY.

 

Coke in Hillside NJ is a joke. slow slow slow. held me in the parking lot 10 minutes shy of being able to qualify for detention pay, then i was told to dock to get loaded.

there is one on maryland, right off the 95/495 split where the scales are..........they are slow too. you will also have to go in and wrap your own loads. no parking at all, so show up about 30 minutes of your appt time.

all those coke loads come back to home here in chattanooga, at the wisdom street location. they are ok, arrive 15 min prior to your time, park, see the guard then wait in the truck. he will come over and verify your seal, then give you a dock door. dock, disconnect, stage tractor 3 feet infront of dropped trailer, go inside and give them the paperwork, then put CB on CH 2. you will sit about an hour, then they unload you really fast, then call you over the radio to get your bills and you are done.

Coke in downtown Knoxville is pretty fast too. no problems there. now coke in Atlanta? LMAO i have made several hundreds of dollars off them in detention pay. once i had to wait 14 hours and i arrived and checked in before my appointment time. the ATL one is a joke, and it is over close to the airport.

i dont mind going there, because it usually ends up in double payment. and for those who do not know, it is in the contract with Coke that after 2 hours of detainment, they are charged 50 bucks an hour. you need to get with your company so they can tell the broker etc to charge them and make sure you get paid.

 

Coke in Yuma Az. is a mess too. I called told them I would be 10 mins late. they tell me no prob I push it and get there 5 mins after appt. they all went home! nobody there to unload me gates are locked. So I sit for 3 days "long weekend" Tuesday I'm at there dock at 6 am and its 12 noon before they have me unloaded

 

wow that would suck. the plants i have been to run 24/7. and i would have asked the person who scheduled that load why it was done so close to quitting time. that was not smart load handling IMHO.

 

Coca-Cola Atlanta. 8 hour load. Sounds about right.

 

Indianapolis,IN took 12 hours to get a broker delivery (from Coke in Chicago) off. Got to restack a couple of poorly stacked pallets. Dispatcher told the broker we are never going there again.

 

I've picked up and delivered a few Pepsi loads. Out of Austin TX, out of Denver CO. No way to secure them, that I can see, anyway.

These are the 12 oz. bottles in the "plastic 6-pak" deal, not real sure how to describe them? Anyway, I put up a couple of straps on the tail pallets, and when I got to the receiver, Pepsi distribution center (Houston and Eagan), everything looks good, as far as the rear of the trailer that one can see.

But, by the time they get into the nose of the trailer, the forklift driver knocks on the door and says they have a few pallets that have to be restacked. Now, these are in the NOSE, the rear pallets are fine, the pallets that I have any real control over.

And these are not easy re-stacking loads, the "trays" that hold the flimsy 6 paks are usually deformed as well.

Point is, I guess, that EVERY Pepsi load I have ever had (only 2, admittedly) has had to have me in the back, rectifying these idiot's loads.

 

had a load to Coca-Cola in Orlando from Coca - Cola in Jacksonville, Driver got there the next morning - Appt was 1 PM - asked if he could get unloaded early - didn't happen. At 4Pm he was still there - called broker told him they better unload the truck in the next 45 minutes or I was pulling the truck out and they could come get their product from my yard. The broker said I couldn't do that, I told him to watch me. Needless to say the truck was unloaded assp.

 

I hauled from Coca-cola in El Paso, TX to Coca-cola in McAllen, TX and had no problems. The total time picking up and dropping off combined was 3 hours.

 

dock guys can either be your best friend or worst enemy. my time is my money so I always try to go out of my way to keep it kosher. some are jerks regardless how nice you are to em.
