Hi,
well to get to the point I have one ticket 3 years old this Aug. 09
this is keeping me from going threw school to get a class a unless i can find a company that will "pre hire" me and give me a job after school. I'm on unemployment and WIA will pay for the schooling if i can meet this one "pre hire" requirment.
I have a class b cdl with a few endorsments. but seems to be getting me no where in my area.
If anyone knows of companies i could look into that would be great. Maybe a company that hire's alot of students? Any help at all will be great.
thanks a million,
jon

maybe i should mention the ticket is failer to yeild at fault accident, but is soon 3 years old and is the only ticket 3 years old.
Also to boot I'm 23 y/o. And a year of over the road travel. (streight trucks, exc. no 18 wheelers) -
Just call every trucking company out there to see what they say. Some companies look back up to 3 years but most look back 5 years.Try swift or werner, they may over look it.

How do you get a "pre hire"? Haven't heard that term before but I'm new here. Do the bigger companies know about pre hires and do them?
-
another quick question ... why are the posts here all dated back to 2009?
-
It's the big companies that do them. It simply means they are talking with you, and no guarantee of employment.
That's when the thread was active, this is an old thread that ran it's course.

Thanks Johnday! I sure appreciate the info.johnday Thanks this.

yes large company's do " prehire " but it is not a guarantee, i have seen lots pre hired, but then not hired due to one reason or another reason.. when you apply make sure you have your work/school history for 10 years. I know that is a big issue for a lot of recruiters, and if you do not provide that is can cause you not to be hired or delayed in being hired

So is this CDl school a scam because there telling me I will get a job 100 percent unless I fail the drug test or lie about anything in my application but now that I'm reading what you guys are saying it seems like its a scam
