I've got a cheap Uniden 510xl. Saves me a lot of hassle with road construction and accidents and avoiding them. Also had some fun a few times coordinating merging lanes with truckers in construction zones, they never expect the little Ford Escort to stop the open lane and let them all in while people behind go ape sh** ! :toothy7:I'm sure if and when I get behind the wheel I'll get something a little classier.

Love my cb. Use it everyday when in transfer stations and job sites. Also a friendly hello when i see someone on the opposite side of the road i know. Some landfills and job sites wont allow you on unless you have a cb. We run on channel 27 so I usually never hear any chatter unless its our company guys or someone i know from another company that knows the channel we use. I dont care to much for channel 19, to much crap going on there.

I use it mostly for traffic reports. Sometimes at shippers/receivers since several use it to let you know you're loaded or empty. Occasionally at truckstops a driver will help with your blind side. Other than that it stays turned down most of the time.

When I was local it was indespensible. We hauled, coal, lime, gravel and other loose bulk material. The cb was how we talked to the loaders as well as each other.

I need a CB at places I pick up and deliver loads to.
Its also nice to have one when you come up to an accident. Helps pass the time, and its nice to kno which lane you need to be in to get tru the accident.
Otherwise, Iv got it turned off.
You do know the true meaning of CB dont you? Constant B#t#h#ng :biggrin_25525:

Some drivers actually believe their truck won't move without a CB radio. I unhooked mine and put it in the bottom of a closet years ago.

I just like to think for myself.
