    I met up with nhlfan we appear to be getting along well.
    he got here early so will be staying with me and we will head down to crowder in the morning.

    It is great to meet someone from TTR and have that connection already.

    Neosh is very small it is good to have someone you know ahead of time before school starts. this forum has been great.

    thanks to everyone who has helped me out up to this point.
    espescially Katey,vmaggs, mitrucker and way to many people to list them all.

    I can't wait to get started

    First day left joplin at 6:45 after breakfast at dennys
    We made it in plenty of time there are 5 of us from conway sharing a dorm.

    So far so good every one has been great so far watched some vidios and did part of a pretrip after doing all the paper work.

    tomorrow we get to play on the simulator:biggrin_25525: I can't wait to get behind the wheel

    joplin local we did try out cheddars the food was good thanks for the recomendation.

    Today we went over shifting and basic controls. watched some vidios on general knowledge , air brakes, and backing.

    We got to spend time on the simulator shifting then straight line backing.

    then did a simulated rd trip with a lot of hazards.


    More pretrip. I met the new bunch of bootcamp folks. looks like a good bunch:biggrin_25519:

    Blktp good luck in school. My classmates were cool and we have been leaning on each other these first weeks on the road, glad to see you onyour way. Not posting much because half the time the pilot wifi doesn't work and it's a pita to use my phone ( like now ) but I'm watching so keep the posts coming.

    UPdate : I know I ragged on my trainer about personal issue but I have to say he did me alright and is always there if I need anything, he's still not wearing socks :biggrin_2559:but other than that he is a stand up guy. Just wanted to get that off my chest:biggrin_25525:

    Blktop - sounds like you are settling in and things are going smooth, still wish I was already there with you but oh well.

    Vmaggs - looking forward to an update but glad everything is going well for you thus far. I'm sure I will have some classmates and a trainer to lean on when I first get out there on my own as well but I will be hitting up you old salts (compared to me that is) when I need a little nudge or confidence boost. Your included in that too Blktop and Gbramlet.

    Sorry Blktop did not mean to hi-jack your thread.

    I have an iPhone 4 and don't want do the jailbreak thing because I'm not a techie, just need to get with Verizon and see what I can add to my plan when I get home. If you know a way pm thanks.

    I am not endorsing anything but I do have a Verizon Blackberry Bold that I can legally tether to my laptop for an extra $20 a month with 2 gig of download included. You may be able to do the same thing with an iphone but like you stated, I am not a techie either.

    I have not talked with Verizon lately but if you find a better deal be sure to let us/me know.
