Nothing personal as I don't know you but I don't trust anyone in my cab. I don't even let my trucks get serviced with out standing where I can see whats going on inside my cab.
Also I prefer to keep my cab clean so I always know where everything is.
Like I said its nothing personal. When I stay at a motel I pay with a credit card and I tell the front desk that if a maid or anyone else enters my room while I'm renting it I will leave and dispute the charges with my credit card company. I only had one motel call my bluff and they lost out on my 4 days of room rent that I had already stayed for when BofA got done with them.
Hi Exp. drivers!! I want your advice..

Sounds like a good idea- I could use some detailing.
But be aware that cleaning trucks is usually a cover for lot lizards.
Besides the occasional misdirected driver looking for the wrong service, it could work. It may be a success. Might even be a new career.
Good Luck, I hope it's really successful!busyinindiana Thanks this. -
The trucks that need to be cleaned....you better get a body condom. They're pretty nasty.
I would not use the service. I would be concerned for any woman's well being who wanted to run such a business on the up-and-up. Both physical well being and health.
If you embark on this, best to attach yourself to a truck wash somehow. Blue Beacons probably wouldn't do it. Corporate BS. But an independent might go for it for a small percentage. Just don't go out there by yourself and offer to climb around in some slob's truck without someone there who you trust.
Most drivers are just hard working guys who are doing everything they can to go home to their own. However, there is a small segment of our group who are not.
Just sayin.Moosetek13, BigJohn54, Tazz and 1 other person Thank this. -

There are many truckstops that will let a small business contract their own little operation on the property if done in a professional manor. You could possibly set up a shed in a back corner or something and pay a lease. Drivers would be more apt to use a service like that than someone sneaking around. Especially if there is a truck wash close by.
Do you plan on being a one person operation or a full blown company? I remember back in my construction days, there was a business called Merry Maids. They would come in and clean/detail the houses when construction was done. They wore short shorts mainly because it was hot. But it was a very successful business. If the truck thing don't work out, consider houses. You could hook up with the local contractors. You basically clean the house, vacuum, clean the bathrooms, detail the windows and take the stickers off everything. It works especially well in a new development where alot of construction is going on. Just a thought.

YES! finally someone thought about this
I would love to have someone clean my filth!
I would be interested to seeing how much you were thinking about charging.. let us know when you start this, I will make sure I use your services.busyinindiana Thanks this. -
Leave a stranger unattended inside my truck?
Not bloody likely.busyinindiana Thanks this. -
The only time I would use this service is...RIGHT NOW. I was just issued a "new" truck. It is a '98 and the last guy to drive it must not have cleaned it since then. I was able to get it clean enough to go down the road but it needs A LOT of detail work.
Other than that, I would not trust anyone in my truck. I have no big ticket items in here, but you wouldn't want someone sitting behind your desk while your not there would you?busyinindiana Thanks this. -
Hell bring a camping chair and an umbrella for them to sit there and watch while you clean it
