Well, remove filter and fill it with fuel.
No need to put another new one on. -
yea i thought about that also but i got it off might as well put a new 1 on ..also thought about it my have a air pocket in it from not having the fuel init when i started it...so what do you guys think i should do first??? mike

Add fuel in the filter, don't need the new one, and give it a start.
Crank it for 5sec than rest for 30sec. Do it again.
DO NOT overdo the engine starter. -
the starter should only be cranked for a max of 1 min or you risk overheating it. i would 1st try take filter off fill with diesel, before you crank over engine, loosen fuel line to injectors about 1/4 turn, follow small steel line that goes from fuel pump up to the head ( the one closest to the radiator) . crank engine over, when it starts loosen fuel line a bit more until deisel flows out and engine starts to run smoother, then do up fuel line and let engine finish sorting itself out..

i dont have a problem with the truck starting its just got a little pop every now and then under load and i think its fuel cause i didnt have the problem before ...im driven the truck everyday but would like to get this pop took care of...i turn the key hit the button and it fires like always no problem...sorry if i didnt give enough info at first guys..mike
im thinking it has air trapped init somewhere since it only does it sometimes.. -
Do what Aussie Dave says.. that will bleed any air out of your fuel system
-
thanks guys gonna do it right now
