PC Miler Navigator 450, 550, 750 map update

Just an FYI that I periodically post for owners of any of these models when an update is available.

A new map update came out yesterday if you are interested. (8/23/2011 version)

As always, the procedure is to:

- Install "CoPilot Central" application on a computer.
- Plug the unit into a USB port, turn it on and wait for it to connect to your machine.
- Open and Create a free account in CoPilot Central or sign in if you have already created one in the past.
- Click on "Explore my CoPilot"
- Click on Maps / Get more maps / North America
- Then click "Download."
- Then wait until it has fully downloaded and transferred from the computer to the GPS. On a good internet connection this will take 40 – 60 minutes to complete.

DO NOT DO THIS IF:
A. You have a bad internet connection and don't want to wait 6 hours for it to come down.

or

B. If you are using an aircard with a data cap and 1.56 Gbytes is going to be a problem for your limit this month.

WHen they say free map updates,,, is this for the life of the product?? also does this include new POI's?? (yes, that has been the policy so far, and yes)

also how are the POI's for canada? (good)

also can you weed out the POIs? for instance wifi, food, parking etc? or is that only available on the rand? (Only Rand)

 

Oh, and since you reminded me, new version (Sept 23) is available using the CoPilot Central app now too.
