not nice to talk about family that way. when it's all said and done , your family will be the only ones there for you.

I got into trucking later in life following layoffs. My kids were grown, on 2nd wife, and spent 1st year OTR (gone 3 weeks at a time!). I wouldnt recommend it for younger guys with families---talked my 25 YO son (single, but girlfriend) out of going for a CDL, as well as a S-I-L (3 young kids). Great life for an older, single guy----driving that is---not the freight trucking industry!! ha ha 1 more year........:biggrin_25512:

Drive local, pepsi or sysco. Its possible fresh out of school. Hard work, only taking home $500-600/week. But still possible. 8-12 hours a day 5 days a week home every night..
