trimac transportation

i see alot of questions and almost no answers ill do my best to help, when i was in school 6 months back we went on carrier tours to 7 carriers shortest was 10 min longest was 30 min, untill we went to Trimac, two and a half hours later they let us go, near niagra falls here in canada they have a terminal, the head honcho there and the saftey/training manager took 2 hours out of their day to lead 4 of us around and tell us literally everything. the catch is unlike the other carriers we toured they DONT hire out of school, we got the tour cuz white oaks cancelled and trimac is currently in the process of designing a training program for newbies

so all that being said this was by far the most impressive tour we were given, from a terminal not a HQ, and from a company that had no real personal interest or stake in us as students because they couldnt hire us if they wanted to.

From the tour i would say they are a great carrier to work for regardless of their size you will be a name not a number,
as to someone talking about plastic trucks, they had just ordered and recieved 3 new 2011 kenworth t600's? im not sure it was 6 months ago. and their freightshakers when i have seen them are beautifull classics with loads of iron for the most part, usually ive noticed them with kens tho.

Thank you for the info on trimac. I've been looking at them. and this post this thread really helped. one of the better threads i read about any trucking company.

 

i see they are hiring around texas. does anybody know if this is oilfield work, and what they pay company drivers? their website doesn't give to much info on it.

They are hiring in the Tampa, Florida area too. I am a newbie but still applied for a driving position. They called and left a message that I need a TWIC card before I would be hired. I have been in school and haven't had time to call them back. I have no idea of the pay rate a newbie would get or how long they train.
