I'm in the infancy stage of my small fleet ownership. How do I hire a driver that's going to stick with me and not leave my truck in Phoenix, AZ on a Saturday night? I'm serious. What does it take to make a driver happy? Greater percentage of what the truck makes? More per mile? I've got 14 years of transportation experience (local). But I want to know what makes drivers so unhappy. Thanks in advance.

Best way is to ask the prospective drivers what they want or need to stay happy and constantly keep the line of communication open. It's all a crapshoot at the end of it when hiring strangers though, just be thorough with references and background and hope you luck out.
