Mineral is correct, an old mining town from the 1880's hence the name. My wife said last night there were two after shocks registering in the 4% range. Yes if Irene skirts the coast it will be crap, I see the President is cutting his vacation short because of it, little Martha's Vineyard will get slamed, just like Ocrakoke off the NC coast if predictions are right, I guess time will tell.
Be safe all. -
Any of you guys rolling north on I81 around Bristol at 1100 today? I saw 3 of you (well 3 Van Wyk's)

Oh no wasn't me, I'm still sitting up at JBS in Souderton, PA. I showed up here yesterday and they were going to load me with 3/4 of the load and call it good, but then JBS corporate decided they wanted to ship the whole load which wouldn't be done until sometime this morning. Oh well, kinda nice knowing I'm getting paid to sleep! FYI if any of you guys will be coming out of Dirty Jersey into PA in the next couple of days be prepared for a traffic didaster! PA is working on a bridge about a mile in the state which has one lane shut down, I went across US 22 thinking it would bypass that mess but it was still all backed up.

first on the earthquake, i had just pulled out of front royal around 140 tuesday, i didnt have a clue what happened until i turned on the cb and heard guys talking about they was in the store when the quake hit and that a truck had hit, and then someone else said they was sitting in his truck and felt it shake...honestly speaking i was about to call my mom and we would have been on the phone when the quake hit but i waited until i got across the wva cause i always lose service but that would of been a heartdropping moment if we was on the phone when that thing hit, she said she hauled ### out the house when it hit...
the epic center isn't far from waynesboro, about 40 miles to the east about 10 miles north of I-64, i bet most people thought it was the train because theres an csx rail line that usually return empty coal hoppers and grain hoppers back west that runs through the middle of town and they beat and bang like hell...
husker, ive been in that backup TWICE!!! this week, and it seems like its going to be three times since i got my 3rd Norton of the week, i'm probably going to try and stay in Norton late as i can and just run 95 all the way back down to 695 and come across 66... i refuse to sit in that back-up again... -
Hawk going west on 78 you can get off at exit 3 in jersey and take 22 west to get around it
Mattaponi Guard Thanks this. -
I've been seeing that backup when I'm heading north, but haven't had to sit in as I usually have to go 95s. Good luck on that GW on FRiday Hawk.
Be safe all, especially those running up to the northeast on Sunday, it will be a cluster ####.With the predicted storm surge, rain, wind and the associated tornados people will be going nuts!
hawkjr Thanks this. -
Husker you were in my backyard! Where's that going?
What bridge now? I-78 Delaware River, westbound only? Thanks for the tip!
I'm doin' my 10 here in Fremont, trying to make Keasbey from Dakota City in 2 driving days! That way I can get the hell out Saturday, seal the deal on a car, and hide it in the barn before Irene arrives! -
It's going to Tyson in Waterloo. I forgot you got a new KW Brian, kinda funny cuz I'm your neighbor across the parking lot! If you check this when you roll out of the rack I'll be up for my daily hose off arounf 0445 central time and I'll buy ya a cup of fine Pilot coffee! Watch out for the mess of construction on 80 tomorrow, I only did 596 miles in 10.5 hours today due to that nonsense!

just as bad... no way local around it, i heard someone said take 31 north in jersey to 57 and run 57 into 22.. outside of that you screwed, but i seen them had a bunch of flatbedders waiting to get loaded up yesterday when i went thru so i guess its back to normal tomorrow, at least i hope, imagine that cluster when you got people fleeing new york and trucks... hell you talking about traffic being backed up to 287.....
i heard Norfolk has an mandatory evacuation, i seriously hope none of our trucks is down there, 64 is usually a pain in the ##### on a good day smh..
