I've said it before and it keeps cropping up as true, your experience with Schneider will depend heavily on your dispatcher. Some people, myself included, love this company. Some people think it is just another worthless company in the long list of crap companies. *cough*TransAm*cough* They allow you different idle %'s based on the time of year it is. 4th and 1st quarter (when it's cold) is 5%. If your bunk heater works, which it better, this is not to hard to achieve. If it is 10 degree's or below you idle all you want and it doesn't count against you. 2nd quarter is 15% and 3rd is 30%. As long as you don't go over those numbers you will meet that bonus expectation. That being said this past month my idle has hovered at 50% because I don't turn this truck off unless I'm out of it and so far no one has said a word to me about it. Of course I don't know if no one is complaining because my DBL doesn't care, about it or if no one would get gripped at for 50%, I can imagine some nazi dispatcher raising more hell then Hell Raiser about breaking 30% but boohoo.
Based on some of the things I see people do in this company, let alone this industry, idling your truck won't get you fired. WAY too many idiots out here causing all kinds of panic for the dispatchers to worry about someone's idle.

Back when Schneider Specialized was still around I had a truck that would turn 2,100 rpms in every gear (appx. 95 mph)
It was due to a defect in the wiring harness they said...and they never "fixed" it. (2005 Freightliner) I don't think anybody ever figured out what was wrong with it, or how to fix it...even Freightliner...I drove the truck for 2 years before they took it away from me and sold it.
I had some fun with a few super truckers on that old truck....nothing outrageous, just put a few mouthy 72 mph trucks in their place.

screw em id'e idle. they should give you a safety bounus for not having an accident and we all know we need comrfort to acomplish that. then ask em whats sounds better you going in a ditch with a 130 grand truck plus frieght if any or you wasting some fuel so you can be comfy

DBL = Driver Board Leader. Snazzy acronym for a dispatcher. Schneider LOVES their acronyms. And Onetime, if that's the case you need to request a new DBL or talk to a manager. Regional very much exists. I am regional and I train people who are going into it.
