Channel Jumper, also known as AB3NK has been banned from our forum for the same crap he starts here.

He will bait the other members by offering help.

Then he will continue his toxic useless rants like you have just seen.

If an administrator would PM me I will provide you with an I.P. list this guy uses.

He will continue to trash talk your members until you ban him.

His next step will be to send a PM to a moderator or administrator with a threat to report your forum to the FCC.

Have fun with ole uncle Jerry

I don't know what that call means, other than I assume it's a really old one, but that is a really neat picture.

That was the ARRL station in 1974 I worked them on 6 meters The call W1AW goes back to the founder of the ARRL who got it in the early 1920's. When he died they got it from the FCC. I have seen some neat QSL's from the 1020's and 30's all of those hams are no longer with us ...

My reply would be go the hell ahead, FCC are people too they are welcome to come shoot the breeze about radios. What a pathetic excuse for a person if that is his big threat gun. A small man indeed.

Bruce you would like to talk to WD2U. Back when I ran CBTricks he was my favorite ham to talk to. The man knows more than most. I guess he is still around, he is very old by now.

Small world Leon. I'm 60 miles to the east of you in MO. I see there's tons of repeaters in KC, which one you hang out on? Maybe I'll have to see if my little Yaesu and my 36 inch tall tram dual bander mag mount will reach that far. :biggrin_2559: Or if I'll have to invest in a base antenna. So far I can hit the Carrolton repeaters which are 50 miles. I look forward to a chat sometime.

What's the "slugs" you are referring to?

Loading coils. Some of them have slugs in them with a bit of wax covering the top of the load coil.

I believe the positions are L14 and L16.

I have not done this with too many radios. Just a few of the guys I run with. I would nto say it doesn't work because it does actually help. They have gone from barely able to get out 3 miles to getting out past 7 miles.

They were all running Volvos with the stock antenna setup. Not the greatest setup but there were no issues of SWR being too high etc. Just that the system did not work well. They did not want to go through replacing everything in the truck to get rid of the stock setup. So I gave them a quick 10 min redneck tune and they were all smiles.

Funny thing is that I figured the radios would bleed terribly but that was not the case even when parked right next too them.

If I'm on I have most of the Kansas City repeaters. I seen to transmit on the 146.820 pair.
