So running hot doesn't mean illegal. It doesn't mean unsafe, it might imply those things. Could just be a poor choice of words. I used to get scolded for telling drivers to do their best. I had no idea that was code for run it illegal. I truly meant do your best and we'll sort it out. Not really an excuse for running overweight, but there are some times when there is not a viable option for taking a load back to a shipper. I've had dudes pick up relays that there overweight and couldn't be corrected. 100 miles to the cons, or 800 back to shipper. what would you do?

I would ask the DOT what I should do ... go back or go foward....hum.... if you get caught in calif OW at the scales you dont move till your legal again....

If its overweight dont drive it ANYWHERE have people come to you and fix it.... then charge the shipper for fixing his load:biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523::biggrin_25523:

We were being told to run illegall in violation of hos regs. As to an overweight relay, dont let the other driver leave until you scale it. If over, refuse it!!!!

Yes there are. I used to work at Marten, and it was frustrating, but not the soul-sucking ####-hole that some people make it out to be.

I've since moved up in the world to a better (and smaller) company, with better pay and a more personable atmosphere.

Keep your eyes open for the trucks you don't see everywhere, make note of where they're out of, and do your research.

If your running teams, Southern Cal Transport out of Birmingham, AL. i have a friend that is really happy at SRT out of Texarkana and there is a small company out of Murfreesboro, TN running regional called G&S Transportation. Every company has issues and not every driver will be happy with ANY company. You just have to find one that fits how you like to drive and your individual personality.

I would suggest changing threads and reading the 'favorite' thread. This one has more to do with pissed off drivers that can't hack it than truth about the companies. 90% BS, 10% plausible. The 'Inside Scoop" section also has some decent info on companies.
