Do YOU want someone drunk or stoned or cranked up on blow on the highway? I sure don't.

And, OK, we as drivers are subject to drug and alcohol testing, right? If you have nothing to hide, then why worry about the Fifth Amendment? No need to invoke it, man!

    Welcome to 2011!

Driving was never considered to be a right. Nobody has the right to drive, not even the president. Driving is a privilege given to you by the state of your residency. We don't have the right to haul commerse. The feds could give a flying hoot about your constitutional rights as a driver. You're driving a CMV on public interstates. You have no rights. Also, the 5th amendment doesn't apply to us. Neither does the 10th. The feds can regulate us with the commerse clause. They cannot however regulate 4 wheelers.

See my above post. Driving is not a right. It is a privilege. No offense, but I don't want a diabetic truck driver riding next to me, especially when their sugar level is at a dangerous quantity. It's a liability risk that doesn't need to be there. Working can be considered a right, but you shouldn't be in the operation of heavy equipment that has the potential of killing people if you're a health risk. There are plenty of other jobs in the industry you can do. You can be a dispatcher, you can be a mechanic, etc. Just because you can't drive doesn't mean you can't work in the industry.

It's not just Prime, it's everyone. If you can't get a medical card you cannot legally drive a CMV, period. Medical examiners are not employed by a trucking company. They are employed by the state's DOT during your screening.

Don't be so quick to give your rights away. Others have died to insure you have those rights.

Or why not just dont go to prime period, because I have yet to meet one of thier drivers who was super duper happy and making good money and having a swell time.

I have a friend who drives for them as a solo IC and makes a decent living (more than me actually, which is sad considering I'm a company driver).
