I picked up a Rival microwave at Wally World for $58. It's a 900 watt .9 cubic foot. I also made my 1st cup of java this morn. I have to agree it was nice not having to go in the t/s and hand them $1.50. But had a problem getting the microwave to work. As soon as I hit "start" it shuts down. The coffee maker worked fine. Not sure if its the micro or the inverter. Dave made a good suggestion to take it inside and plug it into the wall and see if it works. If it does, could be the inverter. So I'm going to do that at C'Ville when I get there tonight. Hopefully I can get the guys to look at the inverter installation to make sure it's right. I sure was looking forward to using it. I have a bunch of stuff I bought to cook in it.

Sitting at cust right now in ATL getting unloaded, then off to C'Ville for my 10 and pick up a load going to Plano.

I picked up in my hometown yesterday when coming off of hometime. Was nice not to have to drive too far, went 4 miles. Monday night had a bummer thing happen. Broke a tooth in half while I was eating dinner. It's was too late to go to a dentist so had to wait until yesterday morning. Got the tooth extracted and was in the truck hour and a half later hitting "ready for dispatch". I was sore all day yesterday driving, and having to spit the blood out, so made for a long day. Doing much better today.

Did that work for you - plugging it in?

Yea microwave worked fine when I plugged it in. Had the shop look over the installation anyway, they said all looks fine. I climbed in the truck to show the mech what it does. First time I tried it, it shut down like before. I went through the steps again and it worked. Tried it a 3rd time and it worked. So I have no idea if it's going to work or not. Hopefully it was a fluke or something and I won't have any more issues with it.

So I'm sitting at the J in Lowell, IN for the night. Deliver in Plano in the a.m. Question for you guys/gals. I try to park as far away from the bldg as possible most times, for I try to get what little exercise I can. This parking lot at the J is HUGE. It took me a good 3-4 minutes to walk to the bldg. So I walked to the store and got a pint of ice cream. Is that non-productive? lol

That's funny - I do the same thing to justify/reward myself with a Frosty! Gotta enjoy the little things when we can!

i'm sorry to say it's the inverter. if you call the manufacturer they'll tell you it's not big enough to handle the inital surge. you can try high idle and start it 3-4 times and it may work if it gets by the inital surge. if not return it to millis and get the one i have. I bought the exact same microwave and have had no problems with it.

That's what I'm thinking, but according to the documentation on the micro and the inverter, it should handle it no problem. Inverter is an 1800 watt, micro pulls 1350. If anything I'll take micro back and move down to a 700 watt and try that.

Delivered in Sandusky, OH yesterday. D/H to Trenton to pick up a load coming to Upper Marlboro, MD for Monday morn delivery. Hooked up to one of our new trailers at the terminal and none of the marker lights were working. Swung by the shop to have them fix it, and so they said. Did my pretrip at the T/A in Wheeling, WV where I spent the night. Lights not working again and I see the wiring hanging over the edge in front of the trlr door. Wonderful! Send Mac60 and put trlr in shop to get delayed another 1.5 hrs while he fixes what Trenton screwed up. Class act them guys are sometimes.

i know it should handle it but another guy went through same thing recently and called them and thats what he said he was told. i experienced it in my trainers truck.

This inverter i told you about is handling and all I have is a 25 ft hd extension cord, at the moment, which should put additional strain on inverter but had no probs. It acts like two 1k inverters for initial draw. 2 pos and 2 neg wires for hook up.

I know we've talked about this but posting for others benefit.
