I have been teaming for pam for about 3 months now. We average between 5500-7000 miles every week. After 4 to 6 weeks out with your co driver it is time to take a break and much needed hometime just to get away from him lol But its not that hard team driving. I was lucky and teamed up with a guy i have been friends with for along time. You just need to figure out each others routine, adjust it alittle to fit both your life styles and go from there. Also if you team with someone respect there down time when there sleeping and dont blast the radio or spend all day or nite on the phone having loud discussions with who ever your talking to.
As for the pay, it is alot better while teaming. When i was solo i was averaging about $650 bring home pay, now teaming im averaging about $800 bring home pay. Like some have mentioned its all depends on your DM and what contacts you can make while working there on whether you get good miles or not. We Usually have loads ready for us before we get rid of the one were on. It takes alittle effort of the driver/drivers to keep the wheels turning sometimes. If you just sit there and wait for your next load assignment to come across the QC then most likely your miles are going to be less then others. Put alittle effort into it and call your DM before you get to your destination and see if he can get something setup for you before you get there.
Thats just my impute on my time with Pam so far as a team driver.Ready4it Thanks this. -
I was expecting to team, but it hasn't happened yet. I've been solo for two months. I'm still expecting to connect with another driver. We've beeon offered a dedicated run between San Antonio and either IL on IN. But, today my truck is in the dealer with a blown turbo and I'm in a motel in Indianaples.
