They don't pay attention to an actual map unless the computer program tells them to. Lol

Here is the deal midwest regional is something like 80% of your loads will operate in the midwest. However it's not like anyone tracks that. So one guy will probably get 100% in the region and the fringe hires will get someting like 50% in the region. It's just a number that they throw out and they try to stick to. If you want to you can pitch a fit and they'll relay your load. Try as the might to be professional, they'll remember you as the guy that wouldn't deliver the load. Takes a long time to live that down.
Everett Thanks this. -
I like to run down south, so I never cared about going down there when I was Great Lakes regional. It is nice to have a change of pace once in awhile. Like running doors to the east coast all the time. I wouldn't mind doing it once a month or every three weeks... It just seems that is all I get to do anymore, Marshfield to NYC, Boston, DC, Philly. Load back to Marshfield, and repeat... I know that there are losts of loads to other places, I just don't seem to get many of them.

You just need a fleet manager that will tell Carol she needs to do better. Too many people are afraid to ruffle feathers. Get with Binder and tell him all the NYC runs are killing you and have him ask for something better.

I love running the Southeast and have told my FM this on numerous times. Give me the Carolina's, Virginia, Georgia and Florida any day!

I have already told Adam that if the NYC doesn't let up, I am going to do something different. I have some decent leads for work around here, not as much time away from home. I'm just not sure how long it would last, so I would rather stay at Roehl. I think he is afraid of Carol, or afraid to ask for something different...

LOL!! Carol does an awesome job of covering the freight... It doesn't hurt for a driver to go in and meet her. She'll work with anyone who is willing to do her a favor, but sometimes the freight isn't there at the time you're ready for it. I never had any problems with Carol when I was looking for loads out of Marshfield.... -
Carol and I get along great, I usually try to stop and see her any time I make it to Marshfield... It just seems that they like me to take students out east, to see what it is like, I guess. I don't mind going to the distributors out east, it is just the job sites in the city... You are not allowed to have a truck over 33 feet in some areas, or 50 feet in other areas. We are over that by alot. I am just tired of the hassel everytime I go in there. I think the distributors should take care of the deliveries in the city, unless it is most of a load, then they should get the proper permits, and not just tell the driver do the best you can.

Had a four stopper in Manhattan one time with the final down off Wall Street (320 doors). All the rest were 5 and 10 door shorties. Got screwed up on the final directions and went right down through Times Square.. Not an approved NYC Truck route!! A NYPD official was so kind to guide me out of there and to where I was going. No ticket. I think he was laughing at the looks on peoples faces as this big rig rolled past....
