The rates out of Florida are an insult, anyone running those loads out of here should be ashamed to do so, even with good pay freight coming in, it is still an insult to even offer those rates, and way out of line to accept them!!! its about time people said no. thats all i have to say about it.

Rate is double for any load going into Florida so it can buy my way out. If they won't pay double going in.
    I Don't go to Florida
I have been to Florida two times in the last 5 years.
    No pay no go.

    SHC Thanks this.

a buck a mile is average for a van, sometimes less, if your leased on to a company like i am, then you have to give up another 25% to the company, so maybe 75 cents a mile, and most loads are heavy 40k +, there should be a law against it!!!

Have client that has several loads a month coming out and she pays broker $2.25/mile on average on 45K dry van load. He keeps asking for more money but offers rates in the $1-1.25 range.

For the most part shippers are paying a solid rate but this is a case where brokers and carriers keep the rates low.

Needless to say that business is mine once my broker authority goes active.

    moblue and SHC Thank this.

Get alot going in and deadhead out to GA.

Produce/nursery season is the money making time in FL.

Freight moves as cheap as .70 from there. Yes you read that right!

Well this thread explains a lot. Now it makes sense why no one hires here. Except The Big Blue Screw.
