Drop tomorrow morning at WM in Cleburne, pick a load up to take to the yard then off for 2 days!
-
Hope everyone is dodging the east coast loads right now, sitting in my favorite spot, Hooker, OK headed to Ontario, ca.. probably get re-powered tomorrow since this doesn't deliver till Friday.. and I'll have my 2500..
Scanned in 3100+ last week.. drained my hours bad though, so been having to crawl this ,load a bit to get some back. I had a 3 drop Meat Load in Brooklyn Last thursday, Picked up off a new driver..
Worse p[art was he showed up 5 hours late for the repower.. It was set for Carlisle, pa .. he was on 70 when they made the call to me, But he cut up to 80 and then had to come down 81 ... felt bad for the guy, figured he was following his fuel stops, but still... well anyway, hope everyone is safe.
I should be on the yard the week of September 25th.. they want to talk me into training.. -
I'll be back pretty close to the same time from my O2...IF my trainer passes me...
Our truck hours are pretty much waised for today so I might the rest of today off. Haven't given my trainer many opportunities to drive the last couple days, lmao... -
My ability to soar with the eagles has been squashed again by the turkeys. After my bad load of 500 miles in 2 days and delivering to wally world this morning I get a load out of russellville that the DLD is not until the 1st. I don't acknoldge it, and request something picking up sooner. Get dispatched to rogers ar for a 0200 DLD with a second pickup in russelville. Arrive in rogers at 1300 check in and wait. Get a knock on my door at 1830 this load does not load here anymore, all loads in russellville. Call stevens but can't get to dispatch keeps transfering me to the useless night crew.
Niceness was not working and all they would say was the load was cancelled. Finally after the 3 call and attitude I was transferred back to meat dispatch. Now he informed me the load cancelled at 1330. But nobody told me. After some discussion I now have a load to ontario CA still delivers on the 2 which puts me in a good spot for my load home.
Only problem DLD is not until 0600 wed. -
Dude, it is POURING turkeys! Be careful out there!

I had a load from Laredo to the rail yard. While there I broke my glasses.
I called the weekend / night goofballs to let them know that I may need to delay my departure to find a way to fix them, which I did about an hour later after an interesting drive to Walmart. I called and let them know that I was all set and wouldn't be delayed since the driver from Mexico hadn't arrived with the trailer yet.
Spent the better part of two days waiting for the load after that. No word on why, and no work to get me another load (3 day weekend LMAO). The driver finally showed, I hooked to the trailer and took off. It was late and I was very tired so I stopped at that new TS on I-35 (I think it was around exit 100 ... been a long time) and had most of the parking lot to myself.
At approx 3:00am I got a call from a very angry safety supervisor. He said that I was on medical hold due to my glasses being broken and was now being routed to the yard to be "Processed out."
And here's the argument for putting everything on the QC.
I told him that he needed to check the QC records, that I had fixed the issue myself nearly two days earlier. I had received word from the weekend folks that I was good to run with it. There were also several messages where I was keeping them updated on my status (no trailer yet ... now late +7hrs, etc...). No where in the messages was the one he was basing the decision to fire me on ... the one where I was informed that I had lost the load and was now on Medical Hold ... it wasn't there and was never sent.
Needless to say I didn't get fired ... but neither did the butthead that was responsible for this fiasco in the first place. I laugh at it now, but please make sure that everything you do ... especially the little "favors" ... get sent through the QC, it WILL cover your butt. Kept me from getting fired.
Love those weekend and night boys and girls ... there were a couple that I could call and get things done, but they eventually moved to weekdays as well (they knew what they were doing and were wrecking the weekend / night shift rep...

Woke up this morning, did usual tire check. All tires are down about 9 pounds, and one is flat! Everything was good yesterday.
So air it all up, head to delivery 65 miles into Chicago, check tires in the dock and the one is flat again.
Air it up to 101.
After unloaded, sat in customer lot for 3 hours. Finally decide to head to TA in Morris to get tire fixed. Check tire. 99#
Get to Morris (all the time, waiting for RR to come off hold...58 mintues!), check pressure. 98#
WT??
Wait 6 hours for TA to get me in. (original promise is 45 minutes.) finally give up, head for Waterloo for meat load.
Drive 200 miles, get call "pull into bay 2".
Can't type what I said to him. It just will come out as astericks.
Get here to Waterloo, drop trailer. Park at J. check tire just for S&G. 103#. All the others are about 109.
Not losing much air. Can't figure it out.
Meantime, my DLD is wednesday morning, delivery in Laredo on friday.
Inform dispatch and DM..."doesn't work. Coming to yard. Have flight from Dallas friday AM to home. Then vacation.
"Need you to deliver, then take vacation."
"Can't. have plane tickets for vacation. Leave Saturday for Rome."
Now they're dancing like bojangles over this.
Not like it's a surprise. Had this set for weeks now, and they knew it.
So there will be a Laredo load ready at Dallas come thursday evening. Come and get it!Rattlebunny Thanks this. -
We had a prepan picking up outta Tyson Seguin but the time was off due to our 2x drop. Our drop here in Houston was even moved up, looked to be so that we can have time to get back to Seguin but ...still waiting for a dispatch.
