Oh Ill deliver the load, once I'm under it it's mine. You think it would hurt to mention I'd rather not take loads that far east if possible though? My wife is due to pop my son out any day now and I don't want to be a two day trip away if something goes wrong.

They do the same thing with ceiling tiles on flats. The first stop goes to the distributor. The second and third stop goes to somewhere the distributor services. Guess whose little straight truck you see when you make your other stops? The truck from the first stop distributor. It doesn't make sense to have these big trucks making extra stops for a few pallets when the distributor could do it with their trucks. I can't believe Roehl charges less to make these extra stops than it does to pay their own drivers.

I enjoy doing the door loads... I know alot of guys don't like to mess around with all the stops, because it does slow you down, and you don't get to run as many miles. My thing is I just don't like wasting a entire day trying to get two stops off in NYC. The hassle of dealing with all the traffic, the cops messing with you, and just rude people... If I could make all my deliveries at 0400 in the city it would be great, but very few happen that way. Like I said, I don't mind the distributors, most of them are great, will let you sleep in their lots... We'll see what happens when I get back in a few weeks. If it is right back to the same old routine, then I guess something will have to change.

If the wife is that close let him know. They'll keep you close. I had a guy run Iron Mountain shuttlefor two weeks when his wife was due.

As Meltom says.. Let them know... ROEHL is normally pretty good about family situations. There is probably enough short haul or shuttle freight in the area to keep you close.
Several years ago, they ran me locally all over TX for two weeks so I could be close and through the house every night when my wife had surgery.

For sure let them know tre. Then you've at least covered that base and I'm certain they will try to keep you close. Not sure this would happen but if your fm says flat no. Then move up the line. Good luck! I have two little ones and would be sick if I missed em popping out. Lol. Dang I miss em now!!!! Glad I'm on my way home for vacation!!!!!

What is this vacation you speak of??? You can't make any money unless the wheels are turning. Oh wait, unless you are a lazy truck driver that sits home on comp all summer... LOL Enjoy your vacation, we have stuck pretty close to home all summer, with my problem, there wasn't much we could do. Enjoy the little ones, see you on the road soon.
