I sure wouldn't fault you for giving it a go. As long as you're prepared for the bad and savor the good trucking can afford you some opportunities you might not otherwise have.

I think this forum tends to bring out more horror stories than relaying the good stuff. For the most part I found OTR easier than most of my previous jobs but if you're trying to make money or trying to get home for a specific event it can be really frustrating when the 20- something imbeciles drop the ball and have you sitting because of their own errors and there's nothing you can do about it.

Whether or not you decide to take the plunge, good luck and thanks for your military service so we still have the right to biotch about our jobs.:biggrin_255:

I use to have a back haul when I was an O/O from the Valley back over the Mountains hauling Pepsi,35 pallets in the box and 38mph up the hill. I have now been reduced from a Big Strapper to a mere water truck flunky. Oh the shame..

45k of marshmallows weighs less than 6k of liquid...
    because...

the liquid is so dense and marshmellons are mostly air.
    soo...

the marshmellons act like balloons and buoy you up, while the liquid acts like an anchor and weighs you down.
