I hear alot of good about con-way. I dont personally drive for them but i hear drivers are happy. I believe Con-Way just like any other company has its good and its bad you know. -
Code:And come to think that I was actually considering going to Con-Way after my 1 yr. Since they were considered one of the 2011 Best Fleets To Drive For. When I called the recruiter, I did notice that she had some sort of attitude problem, like she was in a bad mood. I guess you have explained the reason why.

Now that I have heard your side of the story, you do have a point. And yes, there are a lot of newbies that complain too much, just like these old grumpy vets behind the wheel. So how has it been going with you at Con-Way? I would really like to know because Con-Way is one of the companies I'm considering after I do my year with Schneider. I have no complaints about Schneider. I just want to move on, get higher pay, and learn new skills to become more marketable in this industry.

Hey, yes Conway has been really good to us! I am not saying that they are perfect, as no company is. They screw up!! The thing is, you have to be willing to get in touch with whomever it is that can help you fix the problem and work with them to make it better. We have had plenty of things that we didn't like happen, but not one of them was left unresolved. Most of the time we were thanked for sharing our concerns and they told us they appreciate hearing how they can improve the company for drivers. Its all in perspective, it is a lit easier to get on here and state one side of horror than it is to call someone to resolve a problem. Also, I don't believe you would have to spend a year at Schneider to come to Conway, what made you decide to go there? Conway even takes students...

A fellow newbie was telling me about how good he was having it in that company. That's what made me go work for them. Now as far as not needing a year to transfer over to Con-Way, I just think that having a solid year with a company makes you more desirable than a job-hopper. Don't want to be labeled as a job-hopper in this industry. But yes, Con-Way is one of the companies I am keeping a close eye on. Thanks for your comment.

I finished orientation there yesterday, waiting for my finisher right now. I got a lot of friends that were recently hired and no complains, so you are the only negative experience I've ever heard about Con-Way. I guess I'll see it for myself.

Con way TL is so unorganized it's pitiful. Everytime I went for home time I had to drop my trailer at Con way Freight yard or the drop yard the next street over then upon returning I had to bobtail to who knows where to get a trailer for dispatch, sooooo this is not just a fluke. And I think a company that big should have accounts set up for their drivers in case you have to put your unit in the shop instead of the comcheck system which they always take out of your check and then credit it back the next week. Yea like after sitting you need room fees taken out of your check. Scale charges and tolls also GET A CLUE CON WAY REAL COMPANIES PAY THEIR OWN EXPENSES UP FRONT THEY DONT ASK EMPLOYEES TO PAY IT AND WAIT FOR PAYMENT BACK ON THEIR NEXT CHECK
