Probably what they had to get me out of there. I only had to drive 95 through NY, only took about 30 minutes. Hopefully west from DE. :/

It would seem they should have plenty of work to keep you close to the house. They do alot of stuff that is only a few hours from home... There is no reason you couldn't pick up loads and take them to Gary, and relay them, and then do something else... I guess alot depends on your FM, and how willing they are to really do some work. I guess I have been spoiled, because I have always had a great FM, that I would do anything for. The flip side was they would make sure that I was home when I needed, I usually got pretty good miles, except for the go home week which is bad for everyone... Good luck with getting back close to home, hope everything goes well for your wife.

Once you have completed (All) of your training, on average how long does it take you to start making decent checks after you've gone solo.

It really depends on how things go. It took me a while, but I had several mechanical issues then other issues. So pray for a sound truck that will allow you to roll!!!

It takes most drivers about 6 months to really get things figured out, and really understand what is going on. That being said, some pick it up in a couple of weeks, and some take longer. It also takes your dispatcher and you alittle bit of time to figure each other out. Then like Hindsy said, hope you get a decent truck... Good luck.
