Might have this been a "Lone Wolf" attack on the National Mall, Washington, DC?

Anyone with a viewpoint contrary to your own is a "nut" or a "loon."

He had no intention of causing harm. Rather, he had an innovative way to make a splash. He is doing just that.

Not that I think shooting fireworks horizontally is the smartest plan in the world, but, hey....it's not like he had a bazooka.

He wasnt out to hurt anyone, (the mall was closed), but he wanted publicity regarding an issue he had with the banking industry.
Well , he sure got that.

Like Injun said, maybe it wasnt the smartest thing to do, and the actual event detracts from the issue he was trying to tackle.
It was different, and intended to be harmless.
Thats a long way from the meaningless violence of the true loons that blow up airplanes and buildings, and shoot high school students.

    Just my 2c worth

Hold on... The FOX bullet points say he intended to blow up the car, but also say he had a turret capable of firing the fireworks horizontally. Then another source says the turret could fire in any direction. Now if he went to the trouble of bringing a turret, I can only assume he intended to use it, and if he was in a remote section of the park, it seems logical that he intended for them to go upwards in various directions.

I understand the park was closed and all, but apart from that I don't see where he did anything that warrants the word "attack." Based on the map, could he even hit anything worth damaging from there? *not familiar with the area*

Still, though, taking down some evil conspiracy in six days by shooting off fireworks... I guess I can't argue he didn't have some issues.

Is this guy playing with a full deck? I don't think so. What I think is more concerning is the media's presentation. Why would they call this "Terror on the..." Using the word, blow-up, when it seems it was going discharge or ignite, fireworks. Why on earth if they only found fireworks and PVC tube would they feel the need to involve Joint Terrorism Task Force. Are our police that afraid of fireworks? "They rendered the fireworks safe", how? They don't say what sort of fireworks, but even bottlerockets just have fuses. So did someone actually pull out all those fuses?

Anything like this will be implied it's terrorism. Why? this is nothing more than a fool stoned out of his gourd, pissed at the banks (sounds like a lefty thing), wanting attention. The media is in lock-step with you know who, to get this country into a state of chaos. Any little thing that can add to that boiling kettle, will be spun as such.

Heck back in the mid-90's I had to deal with a couple of highschool boys that learned how to make real explosives, from info downloaded from the internet. Out of curiosity they did, and detonated it, way out in the country on a farm. It was in the form of a pipe-bomb, and could have clearly blew up a car. I couldn't get the ATF to even look at it. Why? Because it was just a couple of boys experimenting. Sure they broke the law by possessing and manufacturing, but they dang sure weren't terrorists. Lucky for them it was back then, today they would be sitting in prison as terrorists.

Because the govt and media, want to install more fear in the American people.. If you were to say shoot off some firecrackers, like when we were kids. The govt would have you arrested and tried with trying to commit a terrorist attack... The thing we call freedom, is not as clean cut as it use to be..

Even in a free country there are limits to what you can express. If Uncle Slam thinks you could harm yourself or others, you cease to be an American and become a Domestic Terrorist.

    Use your common sense, people.

And, did he really have to claim to be a Libertarian? They're going to get a lot of mileage out of that...
