Awesome thread. I just got confirmed to report to Conley on Tuesday for training.

Well, it looks like I won't be going with Central after all. I have two felonies from the 80's, and they apparently won't take anyone with two, no matter how old.

I guess it goes to show you that stupid crap you do when you were a kid can follow you around for the rest of your life. Kinda makes me shake my head a bit, though.

 

That really bites...just because you did something stupid as a kid it sticks with you for life

Something similar happened to a friend of mine. He paid out of pocket to go to the police academy, graduated and now cannot get a job with any PD's because he had too many tickets when he was a teenager.

The $3k OJT is what it is ... even though I don't like it I realize that getting into the industry is going to be rough if I try doing it out of pocket. This way I know I have a job and can repay the cost.

That great to hear, if nothing holds you back you should be in Utah the following week with us. This phase isn't really that hard, more of a mind game than anything else.



Day 3 .....

Took or final exams this morning before lunch and everyone passed. The 2nd portion of the day we went of trip planning and such. Pretty uneventful and layed back.

Leaving for Greyhound in 4 hours to start that 44 hour bus ride to Utah .....

Got the bus ticket info today and recruiter says all my background checks and MVR are in order, so looks like I'm headed for SLC Sat. night to get there by Mon. See you guys there!

 

Don't back on this being complete, several folks were dealing with refernece, previous emplyment and MVR issues all week. We actually left 3 in Conley over this.

If they are finished thats great, but just be prepared since it was not the case this week with our group.
