If you think your going to be a company driver with this co. think again they will send you home if you don't sign a lease. End of story!!! Whatever you do don't sign a lease,it'll be your 1st biggest mistake. They have no problem lying at all. Just telling it like it is.

Can you substantiate you claim? Is this company completely devoid of company drivers? Is it 100% lease? If there are any company drivers, that would imply your satement is not factual.

    Please elaborate in more detail.

I really don't need to elaborate,You will hear more on this. I will put as many threads as it takes to help out a driver that is thinking about going with Trans Am!!!! They may currently have company driver's that they had already out,but will not be hiring any new driver's as co.They are working on 100% lease. The fact's you will see in thier time not your's or mine. There's no need to be rude to me I feel for all trucker's.I have no complaint's with them. They are hard worker's and get no respect. They are the lifeline that keep's us all supplied with what we need.

Well, no-one is really rude here. They have just heard this same story over and over again. Part of this forum's function is to provide information on companies. The company you are talking about has been on this forum for a long time, doing the same thing over and over again. People need to obtain good information before making decisions about where to work. No one disputes that Transam is a rip off, as is CRE and dozens of other companies on this forum. We have just heard this before.

Why would you waste free bandwidth when there are several TA threads with about the exact same thing! There are TA threads in the DAC thread and this forum and heck even one in the good company thread! Go figure those out!

Besides even my posts have more information in each one on TA than this waste of yours free bandwidth. Honestly, honestly please remember when you do not pay to join a website it's free but don't waste so much and not give any information but the repeat that they will send you home if you don't sign a rental.

The TA thing you sign is NOT a lease but a rental! If your husband had taken a copy of the paper work to a competent lawyer they would have told you two this OR if you had contacted OOIDA as many of us have said in many lease threads to them or a lawyer before signing. You would have known this.

In fact no one should sign any contract longer than 1 page without a lawyer! No matter how smart you think you are without the education on understanding where all those whereas and wherefores go!

OK we get it. You husband spent money for a CDL. Then he made a mistake of going to Johnnies Play House and got burnt by wasting his time that is worth more than the water left in that dried up worthless arse of his. You have learned a lesson but do you really think making any more threads in the same forum will help or is it helping you to feel better? if so find every forum out there and post in them also.

    Please!

Besides if they look south at O&S and see whats going on there, going for a complete L/P program now is not a smart business move in this economy, but when you are classed as a 1st class BFI what do you expect!

Just checked Trans Am's web site, and it appears they do hire company drivers, at $0.32/mile (experienced, regardless of experience level it would appear). They also claim their average annual gross for drivers is $52,000. That translates to 162,500 miles annually, or 3,125 miles per week, every week, with no home time, not doing restarts, etc.

I think if I put the word that immediately popped into my head when I first glanced at the numbers (before I hit the calculator) to describe this particular scenario, it would be censored out?

They also have a per diem program (I've warned about these elsewhere). If you actually get 3,125 miles every week out (or more), it's a win for the driver with regards to take-home pay (it's still bad for other areas I mentioned). Every mile less than that, and you're being ripped off that much from your taxes.

Anyone here still getting those kind of miles? ROFLMAO!

The fleece to owe program looks like all the rest, just higher truck payments because they are pushing newer trucks (according to their web site). CPM is $0.84 plus FSC, no way mathematically to make that work that I can see, though I imagine some will try, at least not for a solo (not even based on their optimistic mileage estimates for company drivers). They like to post on Facebook every couple of weeks a driver who actually completed their lease and bought the truck outright. Either they don't have many fleece to owe drivers, or very few actually make it (I'm guessing the latter).

My guess is this one qualifies as a subsidiary of BFI? <-- Thanks Rollover!

While home this weekend, got a postcard fron TA saying how much they missed me and would I consider coming back. Was so touched by that gesture, that I turned in my 2 week notice here and will be going back to Olathe.

    NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I called Trans Am a week ago, I was told that they are only hiring new lease people at this time out of Oklahoma because they are saving all of the company trucks for students coming out of their school.
